Step 3

Step 3

表示对比或反义的信号词/短语常见的有: (whether) , unlike, but, yet, hwever, while, althugh, instead, rather than,, n the ther hand等

Hw ur travel chices impact the climate
Travelling in cars, trucks, planes, and ther vehicles has an effect n climate change. But hw bad is each type f transprtatin? Let's take a lk. Fr mre infrmatin, see the 2022 bk The Carbn Ftprint f Everything by Mike.
Bus vs. Train
Buses and trains carry a lt f peple. S the carbn impact (影响) f the ride gets divided amng all the passengers. The fuel pwering a bus r train als needs t push all the weight f the peple and the bus r train itself. Trains are extremely large and heavy. All that extra weight makes the climate impact f a typical train ride mre than the impact f a typical bus ride.
—Bus wins!
Old Car vs. New Car
When peple must drive, what type f car is the best? Electric cars are fantastic, but they're nt perfect. Accrding t Mike, the fuel used t pwer a car nly accunts fr abut 50 percent f its impact. The ther half cmes mstly frm building and maintaining a car. Factries make r assemble (组装) parts fr new cars. All f this requires energy.
In general, Mike says, the mst climate-friendly chice is t keep an ld car as lng as pssible, r buy a small used car instead f a new ne.
—Old car wins!
Car vs. Plane
Only abut tw percent f glbal emissins (排放) cme frm air travel. But that is mainly because it's much less cmmn than ther frms f travel. Even thugh planes carry mre peple than cars, a plane trip is usually far wrse fr the climate. Getting a heavy plane up int the sky and keeping it there burns lts f fuel. And tday we can't switch t electric passenger planes because batteries aren't yet pwerful enugh. Als, burning fuel high in the sky has a greater impact n climate change than burning the same amunt f fuel clse t the grund. “It's hard t avid the cnclusin that we need t fly less,” writes Mike.
—Car wins!
1.Why is the climate impact f a train ride greater than that f a bus ride?
A. Trains require mre fuel t start.B. Trains are larger and heavier.
C. Trains carry mre peple.D. Trains mve much faster.
2.If we must drive, what shuld we d accrding t the passage?
A. Buy a small car that is newly prduced.
B. Drive a big car that can carry mre peple.
C. Drive ur cars that are used fr a lng time.
D. Buy new electric cars that are small but fantastic.
3.What des the underlined wrd “that” refer t in Paragraph 5?

B. The reasn why planes are less cmmn than ther frms f travel.
C. The influence that burning fuel high in the sky has n climate change.
D. The mment when getting a heavy plane int the sky burns lts f fuel.
4.What des the passage mainly talk abut?
A. Tips fr safe driving while travelling.
B. The influence f travel chices n the climate.
C. Travelling by different types f transprtatin.
D. Imprtance f chsing a green way t travel.

根据“Trains are extremely large and heavy. All that extra weight makes the climate impact f a typical train ride mre than the impact f a typical bus ride.”
根据“In general, Mike says, the mst climate-friendly chice is t keep an ld car as lng as pssible, r buy a small used car instead f a new ne.”
根据“Only abut tw percent f glbal emissins cme frm air travel. But that is mainly because it's much less cmmn than ther frms f travel.”
