      Nt nly des having NHS imprve yur high schl resume, but it can als make yu qualified fr mre schlarships. In 2021, ver $2 millin was awarded t NHS members acrss the cuntry. Each year, ne natinal winner wins $25,000, 24 natinal finalists each win $5,625, and 575 natinal semifinalists each win $3,200. That’s a ttal f 600 schlarships that yu’ll be qualified t win as an NHS member!

In the 1940s, thusands f able-bdied men were sent verseas as sldiers. At the same time, their jbs needed t be filled at hme, ften by peple with little prir experience. The questin then became which peple shuld d which jbs. Tw well—educated wmen-Katharine Ck Briggs and her daughter Isabel Briggs Myers—respnded by develping a tl t distribute limited human resurces efficiently by matching jbs with peple f apprpriate character.       Over the next decade, Myers and Briggs develped, tested, and refined the instrument using students frm high schls, universities, and medical schls.
