北京自然博物馆，现名国家自然博物馆（Natinal Natural Histry Museum f China），是一座位于北京市东城区天桥南大街126号的大型自然历史博物馆。建筑规模：馆舍建筑面积达23246平方米，其中展厅面积9987.8平方米，年接待游客量高达180万人次。基本陈列：博物馆设有无脊椎动物、古爬行动物、恐龙公园、古哺乳动物、动物人类朋友、植物世界、人之由来、神奇的非洲等多个展厅，展示了丰富的自然历史遗产。珍稀标本：馆区珍稀标本数量在国内自然博物馆中居首位，截至2023年12月，藏品总数 共计40.16万件。其中包括世界上出现最早的有胎盘哺乳动物中华侏罗兽化石、复原全身羽毛颜色的赫氏近鸟龙化石、保存完整的“黄河象”化石等。
美国自然历史博物馆(American Museum f Natural Histry)是世界上规模最大的自然历史博物馆，美国主要自然历史研究和教育中心之一。该馆始建于1869年，位于美国纽约，占地总面积为7公顷多，建筑物为古典形式。其古生物和人类学的收藏在世界各博物馆中占居首位，除采自美国境内的标本外，南美洲、非洲、欧洲、亚洲、澳洲的代表性标本也都有收藏。里面的陈列内容极为丰富，包括天文、矿物、人类、古生物和现代生物5个方面，有大量的化石、恐龙、禽鸟、印第安人和爱斯基摩人的复制模型。所藏宝石、软体动物和海洋生物标本尤为名贵。2023年5月4日（美国当地时间），美国自然历史博物馆新建馆域“吉尔德科学、教育和创新中心”开放。
伦敦自然史博物馆坐落在伦敦南肯辛顿地区 ，形似中世纪大教堂，总建筑面积为 4万多平方米。伦敦自然史博物馆1881年正式对外开放，而实际上加上前身的历史，已有250多年之久，拥有7500万动植物和化石矿物标本，是欧洲最大的自然历史博物馆。英国自然历史博物馆拥有，其中古生物化石标本 700多万号，图书馆有书刊50万种，并保存着大量早期的自然研究手稿和图画等珍贵品。全馆有20间大陈列厅，内容包括古生物、矿物、植物、动物、生态和人类等六个方面。中央大厅为现代生命科学陈列厅，用立体景观、展柜介绍进化论和人类学知识。
