I. Teaching Objectives
1. Language Skills:
(1)Students will be able t accurately express the time in different cities.
(2)Students can understand and describe activities happening in different
cities using the present cntinuus tense.
2. Language Knwledge:
(1)Master vcabulary related t time and activities, such as "rush",
"enjy", "shine", "gift", "jg", etc.
(2)Grasp sentence patterns fr asking and telling the time and describing
activities.
3. Cultural Awareness:
Understand time differences in different cities arund the wrld and
appreciate the diversity f peple's lives.
4. Emtinal Attitudes and Values:
Appreciate the beauty and diversity f different cultures and cities.
Cultivate the awareness f respecting and understanding thers' lives.
II. Teaching Key Pints
1. Master the expressins f time in different places.
2. Understand and describe the activities in different cities at the same
time.
III. Teaching Difficult Pints
1. Explain the reasns fr time differences in different cities.
2. Express persnal preferences and reasns fr visiting a certain city.

V. Teaching Prcedures:
Step 1: Warm-up
1. Greeting:
(1)Greet students and briefly intrduce the tpic f the lessn: activities
happening right nw.
(2)Engage students with a few questins t activate their prir knwledge.
Example questins:
- “What are yu ding right nw?”
- “Can yu tell me what yur classmates are ding right nw?”
2. Lead-in Activity :
(1)Shw sme flashcards f activities (e.g., reading, playing ftball,
eating).
(2)Ask students t guess what the activities are and intrduce the present
cntinuus tense as a way t describe actins happening at the mment.
- E.g., “She is reading a bk right nw.”
Step 2: Presentatin
1. Intrduce Vcabulary :
(1)Display pictures f varius activities and have students match them
with the crrect vcabulary wrds (e.g., playing basketball, singing,
writing).
(2)Drill prnunciatin f new vcabulary and crrect any mistakes.
2. Present the Grammar Fcus: Present Cntinuus Tense (5 minutes):
(1)Write the structure f the present cntinuus tense n the bard:
- Affirmative: Subject + am/is/are + Verb-ing
- Negative: Subject + am/is/are + nt + Verb-ing
- Interrgative: Am/Is/Are + Subject + Verb-ing?
(2)Explain the rules and usage f the present cntinuus tense. Use
examples frm students’ respnses.
Example: “I am eating lunch nw.”
Example: “She is nt playing ftball right nw.”
Step 3: Practice
1. Listening Practice :
(1)Play the audi fr 1a and ask students t listen fr answers t the
fllwing questins:
- What is each persn ding?
- Is the persn ding it right nw r later?
(2)After listening, ask students t pair up and cmpare their answers.
Fr example: “Tm is reading a bk nw.”
2. Speaking Practice :
(1)In pairs, students take turns asking and answering questins using the
present cntinuus tense. Use the example structure:
- “What is he/she ding right nw?”
- “He/She is [activity] right nw.”
(2)Encurage students t use different activities and vary the structure
(affirmative, negative, and questins).
(3)Mnitr and assist as needed. Prvide crrective feedback during the
activity.
Step 4: Rle-Play:
(1)Divide the class int pairs. Each pair will perfrm a rle-play where
they describe the activities f a grup f peple at the mment.
(2)One student in each pair will describe a situatin in a grup, using the
present cntinuus tense, while the ther student asks questins t find
ut mre.
Example: “Jhn is playing the guitar.”
- Partner: “Is he playing it right nw?”
- Speaker: “Yes, he is.”
Step 5: Assignment :
Assign students t write a shrt paragraph (5-6 sentences) abut what
they and their family members are ding right nw r at a specific time.
Encurage them t use the present cntinuus tense.
Example: “My brther is watching TV right nw, and my mther is
cking dinner.”
VI. Reflectin:
After the lessn, reflect n what went well (e.g., active student
participatin, clear explanatins) and what culd be imprved (e.g., mre
time fr speaking activities). Adjust future lessns based n these
reflectins.
