The ban n mbile devices applies nt just during class time but during breaks，with the nly exceptins being in times f emergency r in cases f students wh need such devices t help with disabilities.
Eighth graders wh spke with News 12 New Jersey say that they nticed a change in a matter f hurs. “It’s just better fr everyne because yu’ll understand hw it feels t get mre wrk dne instead f distracting attentin because f the phne,”says student Charlene V. “I was usually listening t music, but tday I gt t cmmunicate with all my friends,”says student Desiree Duncan.
The prgram was riginally met with resistance frm students and parents，s the prcess was nt that smth. But teachers and administratrs say that the prgram will have a majr impact. “ Students were talking and laughing and there were n cellphnes ther than being carried in the puches,” Stansbury says.
Teacher Nia Cummings says she even nticed students buncing ideas ff each ther in class. She says students used t thrw in the twel quickly and just rely n their phnes t lk fr answers. She says they nw try t figure the answers ut themselves. “Everyne is scializing and eating lunch tgether. That’s what I wasn’t seeing when phne usage was at its wrst,” she adds.
