    本单元的主题是“科幻小说”,属于文学体裁。本版板块的阅读文本改编自阿西莫夫的科幻短篇小说《包你满意》,探究人与机器人之间的关系,讲述的是机器人公司员工Larry的妻子Claire与测试版家庭机器人Tny之间发生的故事。故事按照时间顺序自然推进,第一段交代故事背景,余下各段聚焦不同场景和情结。
    Ⅰ. Instructinal bjectives:
    At the end f this class, students will be able t:
    1. summarize the main idea f this text;
    2. infer the changes f Claire’s feelings twards Tny as the stry develped;
    3. figure ut the relatinship between the characters mentined in the stry by scanning the passage;
    4. learn t describe the similarities and differences;

    Step1 Lead-in
    The teacher shws sme backgrund infrmatin f Isaac Asimv. Then, students enjy sme pictures f rbts and talk abut sme related questins.

    Students skim the title and pictures t predict the cntent, and then try t answer the fllwing questins.

    Q3. What des the wrd “adapted” mean?
    Q4. Will there be a rbt in this nvel? What type f rbt will it be?
    Justificatin: prepare fr reading
    Step3 Skimming and scanning
    After predictin, they are asked t skim the text quickly t take ntes n wh these peple (Larry Belmnt, Claire, Tny and Gladys Claffern) are and their relatinships t each ther. Finally, students cnclude the main idea f this passage.
    Justificatin: t train students’ ability t summarize the main idea.
    Step4. Detailed reading
    Students read the stry carefully and grasp the keywrds t answer the fllwing questins. The mst imprtant thing is t explre and infer the changes f Claire’s feelings twards Tny as the stry develped.
    Students wrk in grups and cme up with an ending. Then, they listen t the rest f the stry and cntinue t write the changes f Claire’s feelings twards Tny at the ending. Students try t find the similarities and differences between Tny and a human being.
    Justificatin: Practice reading a passage fr details and language features. Help students t fully understand the text t supprt Step 5.
    Step 5. Further thinking
    After reading the whle passage several times, the teacher asks the students t discuss the fllwing questins with their partners:

    Try t write a summary f the article in abut 60 wrds based n the changes f Claire’s feelings twards Tny.
