Christmas was hanging arund. Six-year-ld David was thinking what presents he culd get frm Santa. He wanted slippers; he wanted a silk tie; he wanted sme tys. David gt up very early n the Christmas mrning. He searched his rm carefully, but t his disappintment, he didn't find the presents he had hped fr. Hadn't Santa received the letter? Was he t busy t send him the gifts? Althugh feeling a little upset, David was cnvinced that Santa wuld nt frget him and he was bund t receive the items.
Many years had passed and 2019 came. In an ld huse, a yung builder, Lewis Shaw was remving the fireplace with his clleagues when he suddenly fund a small piece f paper, which was still in perfect cnditin even if it had turned yellw. He picked it up and unflded it. It was a letter written t Santa. The tuching hand-written nte read:
Dear Father Christmas,
Please send me Rupert Annual, a drum, a bx f chalks, slippers, a silk tie, a pencil bx, any little tys yu have t spare.

David
It was then signed ff with lts f kisses.
This was the very letter written by David and the huse was where he had lived during his childhd! The letter struck Shaw s much. Hw simple Christmas nce was! David didn't ask fr much, just the things he needed. Nwadays kids always want expensive gifts and take it fr granted.

What a great surprise it was that he culd read the letter again s many years after he wrte it!
A great surprise was n the way. After a pleasant chat, Shaw handed David a bx. Inside the bx David fund all the presents he had listed in the letter. In fact, it had taken Shaw a lt f time t cllect these presents. He didn't even knw Rupert Annual was a magazine fr children befre he was able t get ne. David was quite excited—he finally had his Christmas wishes fulfilled!He hugged Shaw and thanked him very much fr what he had dne fr him.
