    It's an interesting exercise, imagining what it will be like in abut 30 years. I think I wuld give it a try: Here is sme speculative fictin abut Edie, living in Trnt, Canada in 2050.
    Edie lives in the garage in an ld huse that is her apartment and wrkshp. She cnsiders herself t be very lucky t have this garage in what was her grandparents' huse. The nly peple wh live in huses these days either get the huses frm their parents r are multi-millinaires frm all ver the wrld, desperate t mve t Canada with its cler climate and plentiful water and are able t affrd the millin-dllar immigrant visa fee.
    Edie is lucky t be wrking. There are n ffices r industrial jbs anymre: Artificial intelligence and rbts tk care f that. The few jbs left are in service, culture, craft, health care, r real estate (房地产). In fact, selling real estate has becme the natin's biggest industry.
    There may be lts f electricity frm wind and slar farms, but even running tiny heat pumps fr cling is really expensive at peak times. The streets are unpleasantly ht, s many peple sleep thrugh the midday.
    Nw Edie is checking the balance in her Persnal Carbn Allwance(PCA) accunt t see if she has enugh t buy anther imprted battery fr her e-bike. If she desn't have enugh then, she will have t buy carbn credits, and they are expensive. She sets her alarm fr 6:00 p.m. when the streets f Trnt will cme alive again n this ht Nvember day.
