    Step 1 Warm-up
    The T can present sme pictures f different places and elicit the English names frm Ss s that they can have a revisin f nuns f places. The T may use the prmpt:

    The T can present sme adjectives and guide Ss t think abut what adjectives can be used t describe thse public places. The T may invite Ss t list mre adjectives t describe.

    The T can make Ss have a free talk in pairs. Fr example:

    This activity is t enrich Ss’ vcabulary by intrducing adjectives t describe the qualities f places. At first, the T can make Ss read the wrds in the blue bx in 1a and pay attentin t their prnunciatin. And then ask Ss t identify the part f speech these wrds belng t (They are all adjectives). At last make sure Ss understand the meanings f these wrds.

    Have Ss wrk in pairs t d the activity, then elicit respnses frm different pairs. Where answers are different, encurage Ss t give reasns fr their chices f adjectives and their ranking f the adjectives based n imprtance.

    This activity is t give Ss practice in listening fr details and taking simple ntes. The T can play recrding f the three cnversatins
    nce a time t make it easier. When the first cnversatin recrding is dne , the Ss fill in the blanks in Cnversatin 1 and s n. Fr weaker classes, the T may write the answers in a jumbled rder n the bard and have Ss chse the apprpriate answer t fill in each blank.

If they have blanks they have nt yet filled in, they can try t recall what they heard in activity 1c r make guesses using cntextual clues.

    T prvide Ss with speaking practice using the target language, the T can invite Ss t rle-play the cnversatins between the clerk and the turists. Or make them wrk in clsed pairs. The T can bserve the Ss’ perfrmance and make assessments.
    Other ptins:
    The T may want t have Ss wrk in grups t write their wn cnversatins and then present them t the class. Alternatively, the T may print the tapescript and have Ss read the cnversatins in pairs r grups.
    Step 4 Language pints learning
    fascinating作形容词,常在句中作表语或定语。作表语时,主语通常为物。其名词形式是fascinatin,意为“魅力;入迷”;动词形式fascinate,意为“迷住,深深吸引”;fascinated也是形容词形式,意为“入迷的,极感兴趣的”。
    cnvenient形容词,意为“便利的;方便的”,其主语不能是表示人的词,常用于句型:
    It’s cnvenient fr sb. t d sth.意为“对于某人来说做某事是方便的”。
    cnvenience是cnvenient的名词形式,既可作可数名词,意为“便利的设施”,也可作不可数名词,意为“方便,便利”。
    前缀以否定前缀(negative prefixes)un-, in-, im-, il-, ir-, nn-, dis-, mis-, mal-等为主,使延伸出来的派生词变成反义词。
    形容词派生词: accurate → inaccurate;patient → impatient; regular→ irregular;legal → illegal;native → nn-native;rderly→ disrderly;cmmn → uncmmn.
