    Step 1 Lead in
    The T can present sme pictures and intrduce the imprtance f
    English and hw useful this subject is! The T may use the prmpts:

    Why?
    The T can chse several Ss t talk abut the advantages f learning English well. The T can use sme picture as prmpts.

    The T can make Ss t talk abut these questins as a lead-in:
    Hw d yu learn English?
    Is it difficult fr yu t learn English?
    What things are difficult fr yu?
    What can we d in face f these difficulties?
    Step 2 Presentatin & Practice

    Ss finish the task in 1a accrding t their wn studying facts. Then
    talk abut the prblems with their partners. They can try t give advice t each ther.

    Ss finish the task in 1b . Then the T can invite sme Ss t share their prblems with class and give advice t help slve their prblems. Fr example:
    S1: I can’t prnunce sme f the wrds.
    T: Well, sme English wrds can be really difficult t read. Yu culd
    ask yur classmates r me fr help. Anther gd way is by listening
    t a tape at hme and ften repeating the difficult wrds and sentences.
    (Nte: The T’s wrds can be the same with the wrds which will appear in the fllwing listening tasks s that the fllwing tasks will be easier fr sme Ss. )
    Suggested answers: I can’t understand English mvies.
    I want t read English bks but I dn’t knw what t read.
    I dn’t understand native speakers f English.
    I’m nervus when I try t speak English
    When I read an English bk, I have t keep lking up unfamiliar wrds in my dictinary and it’s nt fun.
    Then the T can answer less and invite sme gd English learners in class t give advice fr the prblems s that every student can be invlved in the task.

    Befre-listening, the T can ask Ss t predict the prblems accrding t the challenges listed in 1c. At the same time , the T can prvide sme related expressins n the bard fr reference:

    listening/speaking/reading/writing

    While-listening, the T can play the recrding fr the first time t give Ss listening practice in the target language used in natural speech. Then the T can present the crrect answers.

    Stage2: 1. Ask each pair t jin anther pair t frm grups f fur..
    2.This time, Ss are t rle-play similar cnversatins using the infrmatin in 1a and 1b.
    Fr example:
    A: I frget a lt f new wrds.
    B: Maybe yu shuld write the new wrds in yur ntebk and
    review them at hme.
    Step 4 Language pints learning
    increase v. 增加; 增长
    increase by“增长了”,后接百分比或分数。
    increase t“增长到”,后接具体数字。
    increase 还可作名词, 意为“增长;增多”。作可数名词时,其前如果用冠词则用an。

    speed up 加快速度
