Zheng He was an amazing man. He was brn in
1371. Ten years later, he was caught by the army f a rich yung man called Zhu
Di and made t wrk fr him. Over time the rich man saw that Zheng He was very
clever and strng and they became clse friends. In 1403 Zhu Di became the king
f China and he asked Zheng He t jin his gvernment.
The king wanted t learn mre abut the wrld
and shw ther cuntries his pwer. He rdered many new ships t be built and
made Zheng He their leader. Between 1405 and 1433, Zheng He led sme sea trips
t different parts f the wrld. He certainly travelled t India, Africa and
the Middle East. A few peple think his ships have even reached Suth America and
Australia.
Each trip lasted mre than ne year and it is
believed he sailed mre than 50,000 kilmetres during the years f his travels.
Zheng He led a fleet with abut 28, 000 men and ver 250 ships, such as bats
fr fd, water and even sldiers hrses.
On these trips he tk many Chinese gds
like silk and medicine with him t give t freign kings r t sell fr lcal
gds. He returned frm each trip with bats which were filled with expensive
things such as gld and treasures, freign guests and strange animals like a
