Step 1 Lead-in
A guessing game.
T: Tday we’ll learn cmic strips f Unit 8. First let’s have a guessing game.
Millie has a pet.
He has a tail and fur paws.
His fur is yellw.
He likes t eat and sleep.
He is fat and lazy, but very lvely.
We can see him every day.
T: Wh is he? Yes, he’s Eddie, Millie’s pet dg.

1. Listen and read.

Cats learn quickly and can be very curius abut new r exciting things arund the hme. They like t spend a lt f time n their wn. They ften sleep during the daytime. Mum’s cat lves t sleep n her knees.
Mice are small and sft. Even a little girl can hld them in her hands.
Rabbits are quiet. They are generally easy t care fr, because they are easy-ging. They can get alng well with bth cats and dgs. We can feed them vegetables, such as carrts.
Gldfish are beautiful. Peple like watching them swim arund. They are quiet and elegant. They never make any nise.
Parrts are wnderful pets. They have clrful feathers. Mst f them have a beautiful vice and peple like t teach them t speak. They can live lng, up t 70 years ld.
Dgs are “Man’s best friends.” They are clever and faithful. My daughter likes t play with her dg. She walks it in the park every day and teaches it t d sme tricks.
