The introduction to the information folderT: Have you ever seen this kind of pictures on your computer screen? We call it folder in English. What do you usually put in a folder? S: Some useful information, like the pictures and files.T: Correct. So an information folder shows you where information can be stored. Step 2 Planning and preparing 1. Choose a country you are interested in T: Look at this map of the world, which is your favourite country? Work in groups and choose a country you find interesting and wish to visit. 2. Have a discussion in groups (1) Why do you choose this country to visit? (2) What’s special about it? (3) Can you describe some famous places of interest in that country?【设计意图:通过讨论激活学生思维,同时引出本课主题。】3. Think of more questions about the country T: When we talk about a country, what do you want to know most? S1: I want to know about the famous interesting places so that I can decide what to visit. S2: We can talk about its weather in order to know what to wear. S3: I’d like to know about the money and the language. ...T: OK, think of as many questions as you can to know more about the country. The questions on Page 62 may give you some more ideas. 【设计意图:培养学生积极、主动、合作与探究的学习方式。】4. Look for information about the country T: Boys and girls, as you have the questions ready, where can we search for the information? S1: We can find information from the library. S2: I think the Internet may help us a lot. S3: We can also find more information from some magazines about travelling. T: Yeah! And I think we can also go to the travel agency or read the tour guide for further information. 【设计意图:通过搜集信息,培养学生处理信息、获取新知的能力。】5. Organize the ideas for writing T: As we have collected much information about the country, we can group our ideas into different sections like this chart. Discuss in groups and form your ideas for writing.6. Write about the places of interest T: When introducing a country, the places of interest must be included in the information folder. So let’s write about some special interesting places in that country.7. Share the ideas of designing T: OK, let’s work in groups again and organize your ideas of designing. Then share your ideas before the whole class.【设计意图:通过分享设计,提高学生分析、解决问题的能力以及交流与合作的能力。】Step 3 Design the information folder1. Tips for writingT: To make your writing perfect, you should follow these rules. First, write your draft. Then, use facts to support each point. Remember to check for spelling and grammatical mistakes.2. Tips for using picturesT: In order to make your information folder nice and interesting, collect as many interesting pictures, maps, drawings, posters, postcards and photos as possible because they can explain some of your points more clearly. T: To make your information folder attractive, you can also choose a picture of the country for the cover. 3. Tips for presentingT: I am sure with the help of the computer, you can arrange your text and pictures more nicely.T: Remember to keep your text short and interesting.
