.阅读理解(建议用时15)A[2016·中原名校联考]Family Photo Competition: The Winners!Adult winner: Anan Marriage, 42, from HertfordshireThis is just one photograph from a huge collection I have of my four children growing up. It was taken with a camera fastened to my husband's chest. I think it conveys all the joy and spirit of our family while also being wonderfully creative and powerfully visual.Adult runnerup: Chris Evans, 49, from LondonThis photo was taken on the beach of Norfolk. We've been going there as a family for the last six yearsthe kids always look forward to a traditional holiday with sandy beaches, picnics and ice creams. This picture has our three children playing in a sand hole on the beach. It took them less time to dig the hole than it would to complete a level of Sonic the Hedgehoga video gamebut they had twice as much fun! Under18s winner:  Rhine Cunningham, 17, from ColchesterI thought up the idea while watching my dog sit near our boots, wanting to go for a walk. It took quite a few attempts to get her to stay still, but I finally got this one. I really like this photo because it looks as if my dog is saying, Can we go for a walk nowUnder18s runnerup:  Hope Simpson, 13, from County DurhamThis is a photo of me, my mum and dad, my brother and our dog. I took it with my cell phone. It's a special picture because it was the first time we'd been able to go out for a walk in over a yearI was recovering from CRPS   (复杂性局部疼痛综合征)  and had been in a wheelchair.  But my family got me through a really tough time. 1What makes Anna Marriage's photo special?AWhy it was taken.   BHow it was taken.CWhen it was taken. DWhere it was taken. It was taken with a camera fastened to my husband's chest. I think it conveys all the joy and spirit of our family while also being wonderfully creative and powerfully visual. 2Which of the following can we see in Chris Evans' picture?AA sandy beach.   BIce creams.CA video game.   DThe sights of London. This picture has our three children playing in a sand hole on the beach. 3Whose photo features a pet?AAnna Marriage's. BChris Evans'.CRhine Cunningham's. DHope Simpson's. (This is a photo of me, my mum and dad, my brother and our dog.) 艰难的;坚强的1look forward to 期待;盼望  2.think up 想起;虚构B[2016·天水三中质检三]Career success could be predicted as early as kindergarten, according to a 20year study recently published in the American journal Public Health.Researchers from Pennsylvania State University and Duke University tracked more than 700 children from across the US between kindergarten and age 25 and found a significant correlation (关联) between their social skills as kindergarteners and their success as adults two decades later. In the research, teachers assessed how the kindergarteners interacted with each other socially using a range of criteria like whether they cooperate with their peers without prompting, whether they're helpful to others, whether they're good at understanding feelings, and whether they can solve problems on their own.Researchers then kept track of whether the students go on to graduate from high school on time, get a college degree, and find and keep a fulltime job by 25. They also monitored the participants' involvement with crime, drug abusepublic assistance, and mental health issues. The results showed that socially capable children are far more likely to earn a college degree and have a fulltime job by 25 than those with limited social skills. Those with limited social skills also have a higher chance of getting arrestedbinge drinking, and applying for public housing. This study shows that helping children develop social and emotional skills is one of the most important things we can do to prepare them for a healthy future said Kristin Schubert, program director at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, which funded the research, in a release.  “From an early age, these skills can determine whether a child goes to college or prison, and whether they end up employed or addicted. ”The good news, according to Damon Jones, lead author of the study, is that intervention (干预) at a young age can help improve social and emotional skills. This research by itself doesn't prove that higher social competence can lead to better outcomes later on he said. But when combined with other research, it is clear that helping children develop these skills increases their chances of success in school, work, and life. 4What did the 20year study find?AMost kindergarteners can solve problems alone.BHelpful children understand others' feelings better.COutgoing children cooperate with their peers easily.DSocial skills play a key role in children's development. D5What's Paragraph 2 and 3 mainly about?AWhen the researchers began their study.BHow long it took to complete the study.CHow the researchers conducted the study.DWhat factors were studied by the researchers. C6What should parents do to help their children to succeed according to Kristin Schubert?ATeach them how to cooperate with others.BTeach them some basic living skills.CTell them to keep off alcohol.DCoach them in their lessons. 故选AA项中的how to cooperate with others属于社交技巧。7According to the passage, it is probably intended for ________.Ateenagers BeducatorsCdoctors Dgeneral readers答案:B 考查推理判断。 But when combined with other research, it is clear that helping children develop these skills increases their chances of success in school, work, and life.(it作为形式主语)译文:但是与其它研究结合,很显然帮助儿童开发这些技能增加了他们在学校,工作和生活中成功的可能。 It_is_obvious_to_the_students_that they should get well prepared for their future. [2016·荆州质]Have you ever found it difficult to understand a text or express your own idea? In fact, someone who always comes across these kinds of problems may have learning disabilities. Today we begin a series of programs about learning disabilities.
