Intention: To review the sentence patterns and words about ball games. That is semi-controlled dialogue, and it is close to the reading in this period.
Step 2: Pre reading
I am Bill, a student reporter from NO.3 Middle School. I’m going to interview some classmates. Who are they? (Frank Brown, Gina Smith, and Wang Wei)
Intention: To lead in the topic of the reading. Let students see the picture to get three main characters.
Step 3: While reading
1st reading: Scan the passage and fill in the blanks.

2nd reading: Read and answer

3rd reading: Read and think.
Can you rewrite the survey result in third person?
Intention: Read the passage three times and lead Ss use skimming and scanning skills when they read. To get the information and the structure from the passage correctly.
Step 4: Post reading
Read and rewrite.
Intention: To transform the person from first to third, and to have students use the language properly and make a foundation for next period—writing.
Step 5: Summary

Exercise book Page 43-44.
Estimated Completion Time: 25min
Intention: In the reading part, there are many key points. The practice on the exercise book on P43-P44 is a good design to check and consolidate them.
