I am the youngest one in my family. In muscular strength (肌肉力量), my dad is the strongest. Who plays musical instruments the best? Oh, it’s my sister. And when it comes to communication skills, it seems that I can never do better than my mum.
But recently, I have discovered one “strength” of mine—cooking cakes.
Perhaps you think cooking cakes is not something special. Many people know how to cook a cake. However, my cooking way is quite different from others’. Since I don’t have an oven (烤箱) at home, I use the rice cooker to cook cakes.
The first time I used the rice cooker to cook cakes, I put in too much flour. As a result , the cake was too sticky (粘糊糊的). But my mum and dad thought it was very special. They said I did a good job. To encourage me, they ate up the whole cake.
After that, I tried again and again. Finally, I made a wonderful cake using the rice cocker. It smelt as good as it looked, and it tasted good, too. You may have eaten a lot of cakes, but have you ever tried a cake cooked using a rice cooker?
I don’t have powerful muscles and I can’t play musical instruments very well, but I am now proud of the fact that I know how to cook cakes with a rice cooker—something that few people can do. So everyone can be special and have special experiences. Every single day can be special!

A.Her father. B.Her mother. C.Her sister. D.Herself.
38.Why did the writer’s parents think the writer’s first cake was special?
A.Because the cake was cooked with an oven. B.Because the cake was cooked with a rice cooker.
C.Because the cake was too sticky. D.Because the cake was cooked by the writer the first time.
39.What does the underlined word “encourage” in the fourth paragraph mean in Chinese?

41.What can’t we learn from the passage?

Danny learned about a few reasons for food poisoning.

The third reason for food poisoning is eating the food with toxins(毒素)in it. Sometimes the food gets toxins naturally, and sometimes the toxins come from insect spray(喷雾杀虫剂). So you must wash the food carefully before you eat or cook it.
The last reason for food poisoning is allergen(过敏原). Some people are just allergic to some food, and they may feel very uncomfortable after eating it.

Everyone has his or her own worries. Different people have different ways to do with their worries. How do you do with them? Whether your worries are big or small, you can take the following steps to deal with them.
●Try to find out what you’re worried about.
To deal with a problem, you should clearly know what the problem is. So try to find it out first.
●Think of ways to make it better.
There is always something you can do to help you feel less worried. Sitting there worrying is no fun and it won’t help solve your problem. So just take action.
For example, grades are often a top worry for kids at school. If you’re worried about grades, ask yourself the following questions.

☆Do I have a quiet place to do my homework?
☆Have I tried different ways of studying?
If your worry is about a fight you had with a friend, these tips may help. Write a note to him or her, invite him or her to a basketball game, say sorry to him or her, and so on.
●Ask for help.
If you can’t solve the problem by yourself, it is a good idea to find someone else to ask for help. They can be your parents, friends or teachers. Remember that your parents and teachers usually have richer experiences than you.

Do you know mukbang (吃播)? It is about the eating shows in front of the camera (相机) on the Internet. In the shows, mukbangers eat food and sometimes talk to people who watch their videos.
The eating shows started in South Korea in around 2010 and then became popular all over the world. Why did mukbang start in this country? Actually, South Korea has the culture of eating together, but eating on one’s own is quite common in the country. Watching mukbang can be a way to have someone to eat with. People can connect (联系) with others even though they are at home alone.
However, mukbang has its bad sides. The way mukbangers eat food in some shows isn’t healthy. These bad eating habits can bring serious health problems. Worse still, some mukbangers prepare a lot of food but throw away much food without others knowing during the show or after the show. These mukbangers waste (浪费) a lot of food.
Now, many people criticize such shows. Food waste is a serious problem around the world, and lots of people still don’t have enough food to eat. Our country does a lot of things to solve the problem and asks short-video platforms, such as TikTok and Kuaishou, to take action.
