Teaching steps
Step 1 Greeting
T: Good afternoon,boys and girls. How are you today?
Ss: Good afternoon,Anna. I’m fine,thank you. What about you?

Step 2 Review
Review “how many” and “how much”. Let Ss play a game “Help the crabs find their home”. Choose two students to play the game. Then review how to use “how many” “how much”.
Step 3 Lead-in
Let Ss try to retell how to make a banana milk shake.

Step 4 Presentation
1.T: How to make a sandwich? What ingredients do we need?
Show some ingredients to the Ss .Teach the new words: sandwich, piece, butter, turkey, lettuce.
- Work on 1a. Let Ss make a list of things they like in a sandwich. Ask two students to show their list.
Step 5 Talking
1. Talk about the ingredients they like in the sandwich.
2. S1: Do you like lettuce in a sandwich?
S2: Yes, I do.
S1: Do you like tomatoes?
S2: No, I don’t. What about you?
S1: …
3. Let Ss ask and answer in pairs.
Step 6 Listening
Work on 1c:
- Before listening , let Ss read these words in 1a.
- Tell Ss to listen and circle the words they hear in 1a.
3. Play the recording for the Ss to listen and circle.
4. Check the answers:
Work on 1d:
1. T: Now please look at the chart in 1d. Tell Ss to listen again and write the ingredients in the order they hear them.
2. Ss listen to the recording carefully and try to fill in the blanks.
3. Play the recording again and check the answers with the class.
Step 7 Group work & Practice
- Show the Ss how to make a sandwich. Teach the process of making a sandwich.
- Let the Ss make their own sandwiches.
- Work on 1e. Ask two group show their own sandwich and tell others how to make their own sandwiches.
Step 8 Summary
- Use the mind map to summarize how to make a sandwich.
- Watch a short video to consolidate how to make a sandwich.
Step 9 Homework
T: Make a sandwich for your parents. Write the process of making the sandwich.
