If there is one thing I have missed the most during COVID-19, it has been seeing other people smile. With a mask on the face, you might feel safer, but your soul might start to feel sick. Over these last months, I’ve learned to notice the sparkle(光亮)in people’s eyes that they still have when they smile from behind a mask. Still, it isn’t quite the same.
I cherish(珍惜) every smile like a treasure. As I grew up, my mom’s smile added joy to my days. I am so happy that it lives on today in the faces of my children. My grandma’s smile always had a happy “Hello!” to go along with it. I hardly ever saw my dad’s smile, but I always loved seeing it.
Over the years, I have also learned a lot about smiles, like “We don’t smile because we are happy. We are happy because we smile.” What I remember most, though, is something I once heard from my teacher. He said, “If nobody wants us to be happy, why does smiling make us feel so good and frowning make us feel so bad?”
It doesn’t matter if you are wearing a mask or not. It doesn’t matter if your teeth are white or yellow, many or few. Show the world your smile and it can make the world a better place. One of the greatest, kindest and most loving things you can do is to give another person your smile.
19.What do we know about the writer from Paragraph 1?
A.She misses life during COVID-19.
B.She feels unsafe to see others with masks on.
C.She loves to see a smile even if it is behind a mask.
20.What was the writer’s dad like?
A.He brought the writer joy all the time.
B.He preferred saying “Hello” to smiling.
C.He was serious and didn’t smile very much.
21.Which of the following is TRUE according to the passage?
A.Smiles can’t reflect a person’s feelings.
B.People smile even though they are not happy.
C.People who have yellow teeth hardly smile.
22.What does the underlined word “frowning” mean in Chinese?
A.皱眉 B.冒险 C.反抗
23.What’s the passage mainly about?
A.Don’t forget to wear a mask.
B.Smiling is very important in life.
C.Smiles can fight against COVID-19.
四、阅读还原6选5
What do we really mean by being open? 24 It’s important to let others get to know how we think and feel. In this way we will be understood and accepted by others. If we aren’t open with others, we won’t fully believe in ourselves or others.
25 First, make your outside behavior the same as your inside feelings and thoughts. Second, share how you really feel about something instead of just opinions. Third, try to change your questions into statements(陈述) and talk in the first person so that people will understand you more easily. For example, you might say, “I feel happy that you’re here.”instead of “Are you glad that you’re here?” Finally, try not to say, “I don’t know.” 26
Also remember that it is not suitable to be open with everyone in every situation. You may want to be more open with close friends, but not with people you don’t know well, because you’re not sure how someone else will use what they know about you. 27 If we say everything we feel and think to them, they will feel very uncomfortable at times.
In all, being open is a good way for us to get on well with other people but what should we do between being open and not being too open? 28 Only in this way can we do a better job in getting on well with others.
A.This usually means I don’t want to think about it any more.
B.We’d better keep the balance between being open and not being too open.
C.Being open is a kind of invitation to others to come in, to speak and to share.
D.Besides, some people may not be used to too much openness.
E.Here are a few ways for you to be more open.
F.This usually means I want to think about it as much as I can.

Do you get upset when you can’t achieve what you want? For example, you might want to clean out your room or continue that things you’ve been putting off. Maybe you try to focus, but you find it difficult to deal with all the things.
Now you could try one simple strategy: developing a habit of being organized. This means you are able to think ahead and plan things well. When you can get organized, keep things under control, and live a tidy life, you can work faster and have more creative ideas and thoughts.
Here are some tips that can help:
1. Make your things tidy. Believe it or not, your pencil case, your backpack, your desk and your room are the key parts of being a well-organized student. Take a few minutes each day to make your things in order. There is no right or wrong way to organize them-the important thing is that you know where everything is by doing this. You will feel all the things well organized around you.
2. Put up a timetable and follow it. There must be many things you have to do every day. Making a timetable or a schedule about what you plan to do in recent days can help remind you to finish them. Put it up around the place you can easily see and make sure you can achieve them before going to bed. Gradually, you would find it unbelievable that you have done so many things.
3. Prepare tings ahead. After you finish your homework, put everything you might need for the next day in your backpack. In this way, you are less likely to forget something. Similarly, if you spend a lot of time deciding your clothes or breakfast for the next day, prepare them the night before.
Getting organized should extend to your activities outside your home or school and is helpful for you to manage a better life. Encourage yourself to get organized now. It’s much easier to start a habit if you can imagine how the changes will make you feel!
It is not 29 to deal with all the things although you try to focus. With a habit of being well organized, you can work faster and think more 30 . Here are some tips that can help you to be organized.
