When the cold weather arrived in autumn, Bill flew to Virginia in the United States, 600 miles south of his home in Canada. The geese followed him all the way. Bill left the geese in Virginia and he returned home.
This spring, Bill was waiting for the birds to come back. They didn't arrive, so Bill flew to Virginia to get them. He looked for them for two weeks but he couldn't find them.

There are seabirds as well as land birds. The most ordinary seabird is the seagull(海鸥). It has a white body, a white head, and a yellow beak(鸟嘴). There is a very red spot at the very end of the beak. All gulls have very strong wings so that they can fly far out to sea. If a gull flies out so far that it is too tired to fly back to the shore, it does not get frightened, for it can sit and rest upon the waves. A seagull's wings do not get wet because all its feathers have a kind of oil over them. When the water gets onto the feathers, it just runs off again. Seagulls can even sleep on the waves.
Sailors(水手)know a lot about seagulls and they never kill them. When the seagulls fly a long way out to sea, sailors say that it means fine weather is coming. When the seagulls stay near the shore, sailors say that there will be much wind and rain, and perhaps a storm, for the seagulls know more about the weather than sailors do.

A group of swans flew down to a beach. There was a crow jumping around. The crow watched them and looked down on them.
“You have no flying skills at all!” he said to the swans. “All you can do is to move your wings. Can you turn over in the air? Let's have a flying competition. I'll show you what real flying is!”
One of the swans took up the challenge(挑战). The crow flew up and began to show his skills. He flew in circles, did other flying tricks, and then came down and looked at the swan proudly.
Now it was the swan's turn. He flew up, and began flying over the sea. The crow flew after him, making all kinds of comments (评价) about his flying. They flew on and on till they couldn't see the land and there was nothing but water on all sides. The crow was making fewer and fewer comments. He was now so exhausted that he found it hard to stay in the air, and had to try to keep himself from falling into the water.
The swan said, “Why do you keep touching the water, brother? Is that another trick?”
“No, ” said the crow. He knew he had lost the competition. “I'm in trouble because of my pride (傲慢)! If you don't help me, I'll lose my life…”
The swan took pity on(同情) him, and took him on his back and flew back to the beach.

阅读下面的短文, 并用英语回答问题(请注意每小题后面的词数要求)。
In an old forest, the weather was nice. The birds sang and worked hard. One of the birds was playing and singing everywhere. It laughs at the hard work of others. The other birds said to him, “Build a nest(巢) quickly! Or where can you live in winter?”
The bird said, “Winter is still far away. Let's have a good time now and play happily now!”
Day after day, winter came. The other birds slept in their warm nests at night, but the special bird didn't have a nest. The weather was so cold that the bird promised(保证) to build a nest tomorrow.
The next day, the sun came out. The bird forgot the promise of last night and sang happily everywhere again.
The night came again and the bird said its promise again. One night, it snowed. The next day, other birds wanted to know why they didn't hear the bird. When the sun came out, everyone saw that the bird was dead(死的).

四、 Last Saturday, we had a class trip to Beijing Wildlife Park. We went there to watch birds. When we arrived, the zookeeper greeted us politely. He told us a lot about different birds. We listened carefully and knew more about birds.
We talked and played happily in the zoo. After a while, the zookeeper came up and told us not to make any noise. He said talking loudly might make the birds frightened. After hearing his words, all of us stopped talking loudly.
When we were tired, we sat down under a big tree and talked about what we saw in the zoo. We all agreed to do more things for birds in the future.
It was time for us to leave the zoo before we knew it. We said goodbye to the zookeeper and went back. We all enjoyed ourselves that day.

But more and more birds are now in danger because they don't have enough living space. Lots of them have died. We are trying our best to protect these endangered birds. We hope this will help more people understand the importance of protecting birds. It may make them take action to protect wildlife.
