教学目标
通过本课节的教学,学生达成以下目标:

教学过程
Step 1 Warming up
1. Listen to an English song.
2. Show some pictures and ask the students to discuss the question:
What do you usually do at a family member’s birthday party?
Ask some students to give their answers. Show the following pictures to help.
Step 2 Presentation
1. Teach the new words paper, inside, poem, rose, riddle, present, soft, woof by using some pictures.
2. Ask the students to read the words aloud.
Step 3 Listening and ticking
Listen to the passage and get the students to write true (T) or false (F). (Let’s Do It! No.1 )
1. Jenny is having a birthday party at her house. ( )
2. Jenny is using paper and crayons to make a card. ( )
3. Jenny is putting a picture of her family on the front. ( )
4. Jenny’s sister is writing something inside the card. ( )

Step 4 Reading and answering
Get the students to read the lesson and answer the questions. (Let’s Do It! No. 2 )

Step 5 Reading ,Finding and translating
Get the class to read the lesson and find out the phrases. Then put them into Chinese.

Step 6 Practice
Ask the students to listen and repeat the whole story aloud after the recording.
And have them they read it by themselves.

1. Ask the students to fill in the blanks using the present continuous tense.

2. Tell the students to work in groups. Ask them if anyone’s birthday is coming up. If so, have each group make a birthday card for him or her. Draw or write something on the card. (Let’s Do It! No. 4)
Step 8 Culture Tip
Tell the students to look at the Culture Tip on Page 74. Read it to them and let them think about it for several minutes. Make sure they understand it.

Review what we learned in this lesson with the whole class.

Step 10 Language points
1. Jenny is making a birthday card for her. 詹妮正在为她制作一张生日卡片。
make sth. for sb.意为“为某人制作某物”,相当于make sb. sth.。
My mother is making breakfast for me.我母亲正在为我做早饭。
[联想]类似结构的短语还有:
buy sth. for sb. 给某人买某物
cook sth. for sb. 给某人做……饭菜
2. She is using paper and crayons to make the card.
她正用纸和蜡笔来制作卡片。
(1) use sth. to do ...意为“用某物来做……”。
You can use the key to open the door.你可以用这把钥匙开门。
(2) paper作不可数名词,意为“纸”。a piece of paper意为“一张纸”。
Can you get some paper for me? 你能给我取一些纸吗?
[拓展] paper作可数名词,意为“试卷”。
3. And inside the card her family will write something for Grandma.
在卡片中,她的家人将为奶奶写上一些东西。
(1) inside作介词,意为“在……里面”,后接名词或代词。inside的反义词是outside,意为“在……外面”。
What’s inside the box? 箱子里有什么?
[拓展] inside作副词,意为“在里面;往里面”。
They are walking inside.他们正向里面走去。
(2)“will+动词原形”构成一般将来时态,表示“将要做某事”,will可用于任何人称,它的否定形式是will not,可缩略为won’t;一般疑问句是将will提到主语之前。
I will play football after school.放学后我将踢足球。
They will not borrow any books from the library.
他们将不会从图书馆借书。
—Will Mr Smith teach us English?
史密斯先生将教我们英语吗?
—Yes, he will. / No, he won’t.是的,他会。/不,他不会。
4. Have a wonderful birthday!拥有一个完美的生日(生日快乐)!
这是一个祈使句,表示说话人的一种命令、警告或祝愿。肯定的祈使句以动词原形开头,否定的祈使句在动词的前面加don’t。
Come in, please. 请进来。
Be quiet!请安静!
Have a nice day! 祝你今天玩得开心!
Don’t read in the sun. 不要在阳光下读书。
