    Language practice
    状语从句主要用来修饰主句或主句的谓语。一般可分为七大类,分别表示时间、原因、目的、结果、条件、让步、比较。本单元学习原因状语从句、目的状语从句和结果状语从句。
    原因状语从句常用引导词: because, since, asI didn’t g surfing, because it was t cld.我没有去冲浪,因为太冷了。As the car is expensive, we can’t buy it.因为车太贵了所以没有买。Since he was busy, he didn’t cme.他太忙了所以没有来。
    目的状语从句常用引导词:s, s that, in rder that s that引导目的状语从句时,表示“以便;为了”,从句中常使用can / culd / may / might / will /wuld / shuld等情态动词或助动词。We’ll sit near the frnt s that we can hear the speaker better.我们坐在前面,以便可以更好地听演讲。He sat in the dark s that he culdn’t be seen.他坐在暗处,为了不让别人看到他。
    s that 引导目的状语从句时,可以与表目的的动词不定式 (nt) t d… / s as (nt) t d… / in rder (nt) t d… 互换。注意:主、从句主语不一致时不能转换。 We went t the airprt s that we might meet Prfessr Yang there.→ We went t the airprt t meet Prfessr Yang there.→ We went t the airprt in rder t meet Prfessr Yang there.→ We went t the airprt s as t meet Prfessr Yang there.
