Unit 3 Where did you go？

Teaching Aims:

1. Knowledge Aim:

Students are able to master the new words:mule, Turpan. Meanwhile learning the sentence pattern“Where did you go?I went there... .Did you go to...?Yes, I did./No, I didn’t.”

2.   Ability Aim:

  Students can use the useful expressions in a real situation and their speaking and listening abilities could be improved.

3.   Emotion Aim:

  Develop the students’ interests in studying English by helping them speak English as much as possible.

Key point:

  Students can master the new words and sentences pattern,such as“Turpan,mule”“Where did you go? I went to... . Did you go to... ?Yes, I did./No,I didn’t.”

Difficult point:

  Students can use the useful expressions in a real situation.

Teaching Procedures:

Step1.Warm-up

1.    Greetings.
2.    Sing a song“Tell me about holiday”.
3.    Free talk.

(设计意图：提供一个使用语言的机会，鼓励学生大胆开口，同时为新授课做好准备。）

Step2.Presentation

1.    Through the ask and answer session to elicit the new sentence“Where did you go...?”

T:Can you guess?Where did I go last Labour Day holiday?

  Show pictures and guess.

2.    Through the ask and answer to teach new words and phrases:mule,Turpan，rode a horse,fell off my bike and hurt my foot.

  T:What did I do in Inner Mongolia?

  Ss:Rode a horse.

  T:I rode a horse,but the horse is very small.The small horse looks like a mule.

(设计意图：学生已经初步了解Where did you go？的句型，接着学习了课文中的动词短语，用Did you go to...？让学生回答。初步了解过去时的一般疑问句句式。为下面的对话及后面的学习做铺垫。）

(设计意图：本部分让学生听听力及回答问题的形式，深入了对话的学习，熟知了对话的大意，并对短文的内容及结构有了一定的了解。）
