We have heard some interesting ways that 5G wireless technology might change our lives in the future.
5G, short for the 5th generation mobile communication technology, promises Internet speeds between 50 to 100 times faster than current 4G systems. While 5G is set to be used in some limited areas of America this year, much of the world is not expected to receive widely available service until 2023.
One project in Britain, however, is already testing this superfast technology on an unlikely group of Internet users—cows. The project was developed by American technology company Cisco Systems, Inc. It also receives money from the British government. Cisco says the program seeks to explore the future of 5G connectivity in rural areas around the world.
Testing areas were set up at farms in three rural areas of England. The cows are equipped with 5G-connected devices(装置) that link up to a robotic milking system, which uses sensors and machine learning to fully automate the process. System designers say technology takes over after a cow feels ready to be milked and walks toward an automatic gate. The device is designed to recognize each individual cow. It then positions equipment to the right body position for milking. During the process, machines release food for the cow as a reward.
Other 5G technology tools include automated brushes that turn on when the cow rubs(蹭) up against them. Sensors also control the amount of light to the cows' living areas depending on the weather. And, an automatic feeding system makes sure the animals always get enough to eat.
Duncan Forbes, head of the project, told Reuters that the project shows the farm's cow operations can be greatly improved with 5G technology and that the experiment provides strong evidence that 5G technology can be widely used in the future, not just on farms in Britain, but in rural communities across the world.
24.What is the purpose of Cisco Systems, Inc.'s project?
A.To win financial support from British government.
B.To test the effects of 5G technology on animals.
C.To promote its technological development in Britain.
D.To expand the future use of 5G in rural communities.
25.What does the underlined word "It" in Paragraph 3 refer to?
    A.The project. B.The company. C.The technology. D.The group.
26.What can we learn about 5G according to the text?
A.It is no worse than 4G in terms of speed.
B.It is already widely available in the world.
C.It has made improvement in operating the cows.
D.It is based on sensors and machine learning.
27.In which section of a newspaper may this text appear?
    A.Entertainment. B.Lifestyle. C.Education. D.Technology.
    C
Around the country and around the world, there is no shortage of human suffering. Poverty, disease, violence, hurricanes, wildfire and more are constantly troubling humanity, and even our best efforts thus far can’t address all of everybody’s needs. Many are looking for places to cut funding, and one of the first places that comes up in conversation is excessive spending on space exploration. What good is it to conduct microgravity experiments repeatedly when children are starving? Why launch so many space-related projects when nuclear war threatens our planet?
This is a line of thinking that has been coming up throughout history. Yes, it’s short-sighted, in that it fails to recognize that our greatest problems require long-term investment, and that society’s greatest advances come about through hard work, research, development of decades after that is made. Investing in science is investing in the betterment of humanity.
Over these years, much of the results of the space research have been adapted to be applicable to our daily lives. For example, NASA’s advancements in the areas of robotics have given manufacturers an additional basis for the development of more advanced artificial limbs. Additionally, certain nutritional enrichment ingredients (成分) that were developed by NASA have been integrated into baby food formula.
Space technology has also helped improve economies. Within the next three years, the space exploration and space tourism industry are expected to be valued at 3 trillion USD. It is true that for every dollar we spend on the space program, the US economy receives about $8 of economic benefit. Space exploration can also serve as a motivation for children to enter the fields of science and engineering.
To many people, the idea of space travel may still seem far from practical. However, I believe that it is important that we keep going forward or we’ll risk delaying further discoveries and technological advancements that will be beneficial for us.
    28. According to paragraph 1, what do some people think of space exploration?
    A Useless. B. Wasteful. C. Beneficial. D. Harmful.
    29. What does the underlined word “that” in the second paragraph refer to?
    A. The advance. B. The development.
    C. The investment. D. The problem.
    30. How does NASA’s advancements contribute to the development of artificial limbs?
    A. By providing a foundation.
    B. By adding certain materials.
    C. By acting as a driving force.
    D. By helping realize the mass production.
    31. What can we infer from the last two paragraphs?
    A. Space programs are of great benefit to us.
B Space travel appears to be within people’s reach.
    C. More and more children are interested in science.
    D. New technological discoveries have been delayed.
    D
Yang Le Ge Yang, which roughly translates to “Sheep A Sheep” is a new game available on WeChat’s mini program and has gained national popularity in the past few
This sheep-based passthrough mini-game was developed by a Chinese start-up, Beijing Jianyou Technology, which boasts that “no more than 0.1% of players can get through all levels” in the game’s introduction, with the second level being the most difficult to pass, according to eager players who have already taken the challenge. This has aroused the desire to win among many other young users, resulting in this Internet fever.
The game allows those who turn into a sheep to change their skin covers after a successful match, and its comic-like art design coupled with earworm background music has become another appeal to China’s Gen Z users.
The game creates a strong sense of belonging by categorizing players based on the provinces they are from, motivate individuals to win and bring honor to their regions. In addition, game tools are another traffic driver as users are encouraged to share the game on social media in exchange for desired tools to aid their play, which has furthered its digital reach.
Although the game is free to play, game equipment plays a crucial role in bringing profit for the developer through its close ties to advertising. Users also have to watch in-app advertisements to win more powerful tools to get rid of obstacles in the matching process.
“The popularity of Sheep A Sheep indicates a consumer appetite for Hard Fun, (difficult to win) style content in China,” said Liao Xuhua, cultural consumption analyst at the industry research institute Analysis.
However, concerns have also arisen around the sustainability of this hyped(炒作的) game, due mainly to its low bar entry and low development cost. This allows copycats to soon follow, which has been proven by many similar mini-games.
    32. What do we know about the users of the game Sheep A Sheep?
    A. They are unlikely to get through all levels.
    B. They can change their skin covers at any time.
    C. They are deeply attracted by the background music.
    D. They will design their own comic-like art in the game.
    33. How does the developer of the game make profit according to the article?
    A. By charging the users for playing the game.
    B. By adding advertisements to the game.
    C. By selling more powerful tools to the users.
    D. By calling for more people to participate in the game.
    34. What conclusion can we draw from the last but one paragraph?
    A. Sheep A Sheep spoils the appetite of consumers.
    B. The harder the game, the more fun it is.
    C. The desire to win results in the popularity of the game.
D Consumers become addicted to the game due to its style.
    35. Which word can best describe the future of the game?
    A. Promising. B. Definite. C. Hopeless. D. Uncertain.

Emily White was born seventeen years ago with so many birth problems in her body. Some of her organs, bones and muscles were out of shape. No one expected her to survive. She did make it but with her strange body figure, everyone could recognize her, even from a distance.
In Emily White's hometown, there was a yearly outdoor performance in the school auditorium(礼堂).It had been performed for so many years and actually had become one of the most important events of the Christmas season for many of the town's people. Many people tried out each year for it but so many were turned away. It could only include the most excellent people in the field.
Emily had a beautiful singing voice. Last year she went to Mrs. Owens—her music teacher to ask to join in the performance. Without letting her sing, Mrs. Owens took a look at Amy's body and said, "Child, you just don't fit. Everyone would stare at you and that would make you uncomfortable. It would make them uncomfortable, too."
Without singing a single note, Emily was sent back through the door of the choral(合唱)room. Hurt and upset, she decided never to try out again. But Mrs. Owens then retired.
This year, there came a new music teacher, Butler. He heard about Emily and suggested that she have a try.
Emily didn't want to be rejected again, so she hesitated a little about it. As Emily struggled, the door was pushed open and Mr. Butler called, "Emily, you're next." Although kind of nervous, Emily did as Mr. Butler told her to do. Mr. Butler sat by the piano to accompany Emily. When Emily finished her testing performance, she thanked Mr. Butler and knew the result would be posted on the door of the choral room the next day.
Emily couldn't sleep that night. She was suffering from the feelings that she didn't fit and the great need to be accepted. By the next morning, her stomach was even in pain because of stress.

Investing in science is investing in the betterment of humanity.”(是的,这是短视的,因为它没有认识到我们最大的问题需要长期投资,社会最大的进步来自于that后几十年的辛勤工作、研究和发展。

It is true that for every dollar we spend on the space program, the US economy receives about $8 of economic benefit. Space exploration can also serve as a motivation for children to enter the fields of science and engineering. To many people, the idea of space travel may still seem far from practical. However, I believe that it is important that we keep going forward or we’ll risk delaying further discoveries and technological advancements that will be beneficial for us.”(空间技术也有助于改善经济。 故选A项。

56-65答案:to; be told; Dating; a; choice; gradually; held; more popular; What; reflects
    56.from...to... 故填to。
故填be told。
62此句为强调句型, 主语为the Royal Wedding, 谓语为contributed to, 设空处作定语修饰the Royal Wedding, the Royal Wedding与hold之间为逻辑上的被动关系, 故填过去分词held。

    Dear Jack,
I'm glad to tell you that there will be a calligraphy and painting exhibition in our city.
The exhibition will be held on the second floor of our city museum on Saturday, 17 August. Nearly 40 artists' works will be exhibited, all of which will demonstrate and praise China's beautiful rivers and mountains.
In ancient China, speaking of Chinese culture, people will first think of lyre-playing, chess, calligraphy and painting. That is to say, calligraphy and painting are the two most important parts of Chinese culture. And all the artists and works are carefully selected.
I'm sure the exhibition will worth your money and time!
    Yours,
    Li Hua

    Paragraph 1
The next day, Emily nervously glanced at the list on the door of the choral room. She was not rejected this time. Her name was posted at the top of the list. She, Emily White, was chosen to be the leading singer! She would sing alone in the performance. Emily couldn't believe her eyes. There must be some mistake. But Mr. Buttler said to her with determined eyes, "Emily, I choose you because you should perform the part — your voice is unusual. Believe in yourself." Greatly encouraged, Emily practiced really hard.
    Paragraph 2
Finally, the day of performance came. Standing in front of the line, Emily felt her throat tight and her palms sweating. When the curtain opened up, the eyes of the whole audience fell upon Emily. "Emily White!" Someone whispered. Then, along with the first note of music, Emily began to sing her heart out. Her voice was like a nightingale ringing in the auditorium. Applause! Emily felt so happy and comfortable. She was shining on the stage. Emily White, with so many birth problems in her body, was an angel.
