For several months,Cara has been working up the courage to approach her mom about what she saw on Instagram. Not long ago,the 11yearold girl, like all the other kids in this story, discovered that her mom had been posting her photos for much of her life.“I’ve wanted to bring it up.It’s strange to see myself up there, and sometimes there are pictures I don’t like of myself,”she said.
Like most other modern kids,Cara grew up immersed in social media. While many kids may not yet have accounts themselves, their parents, schools, sports teams, and organizations have been organizing an online presence for them since birth. The shock of realizing that details about your life have been shared online without your permission or knowledge has become an important experience in the lives of many teenagers.Recently a parenting blogger(博主) wrote in a Washington Post essay that despite(不顾) her 14yearold daughter’s horror at discovering that her mother had shared years of highly personal stories and information about her online, she simply could not stop posting on her blog and social media. The writer said that promising her daughter that she would stop posting her publicly on the Internet would mean shutting down a vital part of herself, which isn’t necessarily good for herself or her daughter.
But it’s not just crazy mommy bloggers who construct a child’s online identity;plenty of average parents do the same. There’s even a special word for it: sharenting.Almost a quarter of children begin their digital lives when parents upload their photos to the Internet, according to a study conducted by the Internetsecurity firm AVG.The study also found that 92 percent of kids under the age of 2 already have their own unique digital identity.
21.How does Cara feel about her mom’s behavior?
    A.It’s aggressive. B.It’s appropriate.
    C.It’s annoying. D.It’s favorable.
    22.Who are fond of sharenting?
A.A quarter of students. B.Most ordinary parents.
C.Kids under the age of 2. D.Some crazy bloggers.
23.Which of the following can be the best title for the text?
    A.Children’s New Trouble B.Social Media
    C.Kids’ Online Performance D.Mommy Bloggers

When Roy Austin went on his first wildlife trip back in 2018,his only goal for the leisurely vacation was to catch sight of some African wildlife in its natural habitat—but he ended up finding something much more meaningful. He was most captivated(迷住)by the people he met in rural Kenya—particularly at the Amboseli Primary and Secondary School in Amboseli National Park.
In addition to befriending many of the students and teachers,Austin was surprised to learn how difficult it was to get books and school supplies for the children.“In rural Kenya, the government does not build school buildings. You either build it yourself or raise money to have it built,” says Austin.“A teacher was asked if they had a library. She replied,‘No,but we would love to have a library.’ That stuck in my mind.”
When Austin eventually returned to his home in Bluffton,South Carolina,he launched Libraries for Kids International.Since starting the charity,Austin has managed to ship more than 1,000 books to 11 schools across Kenya and Tanzania. He sends the books through the post office rather than FedEx to keep the shipping costs down.
As it continues to collect books and donations for additional shipments,Austin says that the charity is now helping to move a shipping container of 22,000 books from Atlanta to Kenya. In the future, the philanthropist(慈善家)hopes to start sending donations to South America as well.
“Many people told me that it can’t be done. It’s too expensive to ship books, and they will disappear going through customs,” Austin says.“However, every worthwhile project will have problems and barriers. If you focus on the problems, you will never start. On the contrary,if you focus on the aim and solve the problems as they arise, most anything is possible.”
24.What problem does Austin find in rural Kenya?

I have three kids and a great husband and I'm enjoying a career that I find challenging and fun. To the outside world, this feels like “success”. But there is still a voice in my heart asking if this is who I truly am. Only in silence do I hear the self and wonder who that person might be.
So I booked a trip to find out. I travelled, for the first time, without my husband or kids. I went to Iceland with a friend, who shares an appreciation for wilderness and silence.
For six days, we were immersed(沉浸) in wild, raw scenery and real weather—all kinds of weather. Climbing a mountain against rain and returning to a tent for a simple meal reminds you how little you actually need. And how strong it feels to be uncomfortable sometimes.
I found silence in Iceland, and time to consider the me outside of career and the me outside of kids as I shared stories with strangers.
When I stopped talking and just listened, I became more generous. I learned that choosing to be generous can create more space, more food and more warmth.
But I didn't really gain any better appreciation of what I want from life or my job. I suspect the anxiety that drove me to seek silence in Iceland was losing sight of my ability to choose gratitude and joy, and to be present in the challenges I set in my career and my family.
I came home to noise, rush and love;with no less confusion on who I want to be. I know the answer isn't waiting out there on the top of a mountain in Iceland. The answer is in front of me with every step on my own life's path, and in every choice I make.
28.Why did the author take a trip to Iceland?
    A. To gain a new experience. B. To enjoy family happiness.
    C. To better understand herself. D. To appreciate natural beauty.
29.What do we learn about the author's trip?
    A. Exciting. B. Difficult. C. Relaxing. D. Adventurous.
30.What change happened to the author?
    A. She felt lonelier. B. She felt more anxious.
    C. She became more caring. D. She became more confident.
31.What will the author do in the future?
    A. Go back to nature. B. Face reality bravely.
    C. Travel to Iceland more often. D. Pay less attention to her feelings.

Praise from his Hollywood peers and colleagues was generous.President of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige appreciated Lee’s unparalleled impact on the industry.“No one has had more of an impact on my career than Stan Lee,” Feige said.“Our thoughts are with his family and the millions of fans who have been forever touched by Stan’s genius, charisma and heart.”

A.aimed旨在,瞄准;B.meant意思是,意味着;C.considered考虑;D.thought想。根据前文的“understand”和后文“by the saying‘giving is getting’.”
A.cost花费,多指花钱;B.took采取;C.called叫;D.asked问。根据空后的“a little action and a few words”和上文作者帮助穷人的行为可知,空处需用动词took,表示采取行动;take action采取行动,固定搭配。
A. whole全部;B. others其它人;C. rest剩余部分;D. time时间。根据上文“I gained and learned more in those two minutes than I did”可知,此处表示对比,“in those two minutes”与这个月其它的时间进行对比,表示在这两分钟里,作者获得的和学到的东西比这个月的其他时间都多,the rest of“……剩余的”。故选C。
    【57题详解】
考查动词词义辨析。句意:世界上每个人都需要帮助,每个人都可以给予帮助,每个人都会因表现出善意而被帮助。A. give给予;B.send送;C.offer提供;D.have有。 故选A。
A.showing展示;B.expressing表达;C.lending借出;D.setting设置。 故选A。
A.moment时刻;B.day白天;C.minute分钟;D.time时间。根据空后“I have the chance to do something nice.”
A.power力量;B.meaning意思;C.strength力,多指人的体力;D.aim目标。 故选A。

Do you know that woman who looks disappointed behind you 61_______ a line in the supermarket? Or your elderly neighbors you only see when they're collecting their mails? Take a minute to say hello to them, or just smile!
We're all busy, but it's 62_______ (equal) rewarding for you to make someone else feel special by starting up a small talk. This is something I 63_______ (work) on over the last few years. I'm easily affected by seeing others who seem lonely and worry about people who may not feel as 64_______—(love) as they should be. It doesn't mean I try to become best friends with these people, but I strongly believe that a small gesture is worth twice 65______ (it) weight in gold. You never know 66_______ someone else is going through and how much 67_______ (different) you might really make to them.
With some small talk, we can get to hear some wonderful 68_______ (story) and experiences others share. It makes you feel good. Besides, you might end up 69_______ (make) some pretty great friends in unexpected places and it only costs 70_______ minute or two of your time.
in ; equally ; have been working ; loved ; its; what ; difference; stories ; making; a/one
end up doing sh.

One Sunday last year, eight of us hiked for a couple of hours through the desert near San Diego to reach Thunder Canyon Cave. We had to go through a waterfall to get inside, so we put on our wetsuits and lowered ourselves 30ft down. By 11:00 am we were inside. With further climbing, we reached a nineinch crack. Having caved for four hours,__I was tired and wet.
The group leader, Luca,__was guiding three cavers. One of them, Steve, in his 50s, got jammed in the__crack. There was 10 minutes of pulling and pushing until Steve was free. He was tired and needed to leave. Luca, assuming I'd been through the crack before, guided Steve through another 15 minutes of cave to an exit. I was second from last to go through and out of earshot I didn't realize that Luca wasn't there—if I'd known, I wouldn't have attempted the crack, as I needed an experienced guide.
The challenge is to move your feet first down the length of the crack, and then angle your body sideways to swing along, before dropping five feet to the floor of the next space. On my first attempt, I knew I wouldn't make__it through, but the group encouraged me to try again. I didn't want to inconvenience anyone by having to make the long trip back through the cave, so I backed out and took off my wetsuit. In just my Tshirt, I tried to slide through again but my hips (屁股) jammed. My feet were hanging the other side and my left arm supported my body. My hand rested on a wooden board that had been left covering rocks to protect cavers from slipping. Luca returned and the team tried everything to move me as I mentally focused on escape.
After two hours my arm weakened, so I slid further into the crack, where the__gap was only eight and a half inches wide. My body weight was now on my left elbow, my back and chest touching the cold stone walls. The guy behind me, Jim, tried unsuccessfully to pull me back. Of course, I was blocking his escape,__too.
    注意:
    1. 所续写短文的词数应为150左右;
    2. 续写部分分为两段,每段的开头语已为你写好;
    Paragraph 1:
With the risk of hypothermia (低体温), _____________________________________________________
    Paragraph 2:
Luca finally found the rescue helicopter._____________________________________________________
With the risk of hypothermia (低体温), the group supplied me with jackets and bags. I was told to keep moving but I could only raise my right arm slightly and look up or down. Jim told stories to try to keep me awake. I'd been trapped for five hours and I no longer expected to make_it out alive.
Luca finally found the rescue helicopter. Three hours later Cave Rescue arrived. They lifted the board near my head to angle me so I could exit the__crack. As they began to pull my feet, the walls painfully squeezed. When they asked if they should stop, I shouted: “Keep going—I don't care anything, just get me out!” When released I was truly joyous with freedom. After resting for 20 minutes,__I managed to climb out of the cave. Afterwards, I was sent by a helicopter to meet an ambulance.
