Analysis of material:

 The content of my lesson is New Standard English for Senior High Schools. Book1 Unit4 Friends forever------Starting out & understanding ideas. This text is an argumentation which is about the ways of making friends in the past and at the present.The text also discusses the advantages and disadvantages of making friends online.

Analysis of students:

This class is designed for students in the first semester of grade one. Students have already learned the words of this unit and they are asked to preview this lesson in advance. Although the students have the basic abilities of learning, speaking, reading and writing, they still need opportunities to practice what they have learned and higher-level thinking needs the teacher’s guidance.

Teaching aims:

1. Ss grasp main idea of this passage.
2. Ss get the structure and logic of the text, understand the features of the essay.

1. Ss can practice their critical thinking by discussing the advantages and disadvantages of online friendship.
