    Lesson 3: Good Food, Good Health

     

    设计说明

    首先,利用图片交谈病情,复习以前所学内容,并指出为了保持健康要有好的饮食习惯和吃健康的食物,从而导入新课。接着,利用图片教学生词及表达,并跟读音频练习生词。然后,通过听后回答问题、读后把课文中出现的食物分类、读后回答问题、听后找短语并翻译来循序渐进地学习课文;并利用教材上的Let’s Do It! No.2 No.3进行巩固和运用所学知识。最后,处理“动手活动”并进行学习总结。在整个课文的教学过程中,体现了“听——读——用”的教学原则,并且采用任务型教学法,以达到理解课文的目的。

    教学目标

    通过本课节的教学,学生达成以下目标:

    1. 知识目标

    掌握单词:corn, bean, Asian, include

    接触单词:grain, vitamin, mineral, fibre, protein, soy, calcium, bone, yogurt,

    contain, balanced, diet

    短语:be rich in..., East Asian countries

    2. 能力目标

    (1) 掌握有关食物所含营养成分的词汇及表达;

    (2) 能用英语介绍不同食物所含的不同营养成分。

    3. 情感目标

    养成饮食健康和饮食平衡的好习惯。

    重点难点

    1. 重点本节课重点单词、短语。

    2. 难点:能用英语介绍不同食物所含的不同营养成分。

    Step 1  Review

    Free talk.

    Show the class four pictures of illness and talk about them with the whole class.

      

     have a fever    have a stomachache  have a toothache   His leg hurts.

      The dialogue:

      T: Whats wrong with?

      S: He/She

      T: Why does he/she? Guess!

      S1: Maybe

      T:

        So, to keep healthy, we should have a good eating habit and have healthy food. Do you know what food is good for us? Lets learn Lesson 3: Good Food, Good Health.

    Step 2  Presentation

    1. Teach the new words corn, grain, vitamin, mineral, fibre, bean, soy, protein,

    yogurt, contain, calcium, bone, include and expressions be rich in..., a balanced

    diet by talking about the pictures.

             

     T: Look at the picture. This is corn. And what are these?

     S: They are bread and wheat.

     T: Yes, They are grains. Grains are rich in vitamin, mineral and fibre.

        

      T: Look at the pictures. They are beans. And this is soy. What food are these?

      S: They are tofu, soy milk.

    T: Yes. Soy can be made into protein foods.

             

     T: Whats this in Chinese?

     S: 酸奶.

     T: Yes. In English, its called yogurt. It contains much calcium. Calcium can keep our bones strong.

                        

     T: What can you see in the picture?

     S: We can see different food.

     T: Yes. And we should eat different food to have a balanced diet. A balanced diet includes foods from different food groups.

    2. Read the new words following the recording, and read the expressions alone.

      Then remember them.

    Step 3  Listening and answering

       Play the recording of the lesson for the class to listen and answer the questions.

      1. How many food groups are there? And what are they?

      2. What is a balanced diet?

     Answers: 1. There’re four. They’re grains, fruits and vegetables, protein foods and calcium foods.

    2. It should include foods from each food group.

    Step 4  Reading

    1. Get the class to read the lesson and choose the food words from the lesson and put them in the correct food group. (Lets Do It! No.1)

    3. Get the class to listen to the recording of the lesson and find the expressions, and then translate them.

    Step 6  Doing a survey

    What do you usually eat at every meal? Do a survey and compare your eating habits with those of your classmates. Then report it. (Lets Do It! No. 3)

He should eat more protein foods like meat, fish and eggs.
