1. 教学内容分析：本课的内容是PEP教材五年级下册,本课是一节阅读课，通过Sarah的日记来呈现，主要记录小猫的成长过程，为学生展示了小动物从出生到长大的整个生命历程，渗透生命意识和亲情教育。本节课的教学重点在于阅读方法的指导、表达的训练，如何从文中获取有效信息。通过学习，了解日记的格式，尝试用日记的形式记录有意义的事情。
2. 学生情况分析：本课的教学内容对于五年级的学生来说有点难度，虽然他们已经学习了序数词的用法，但要正确的拼读序数词，归纳月份及日期的拼读规律，并正确地读出本课的日期还是有一定难度的，容易与基数词混淆。本课是以日记的形式来记录生活中的事情，学生不仅要读懂日期，还要明白日记的内容，然后进行合作式学习。当然，本课以Sarah的小猫日记为主线，记录小猫的生长过程，是学生经常遇到而又喜欢的话题，学生一定很感兴趣。
