when 和 while 引导的时间状语从句：

1. 延续性动词和瞬间性动词

(1) 延续性动词指动作可以延续一段时间, 而不是瞬间结束。如: work、study、drink、eat等。

(2) 瞬间性动词指动作极为短暂，瞬间结束。如: start、begin、die、jump、knock等。

2.（1）观察例句：I was walking to school when I saw a cat in a tree.

Her mother was cleaning the house when Sally arrived home,

  结论：when引导的时间状语从句中，主句用_______-性动词，从句用瞬间性动词；主句用过去进行时态，从句用___________时态。

（2）观察例句：Someone knocked at the door while I was sleeping in the bedroom,
