    may是情态动词,后接动词原形。(1) may在本句中表示推测,意为“也许;可能”。—Is Mike in the classrm? 迈克在教室里吗? —I’m nt sure. He may be in the library. 我不确定。他可能在图书馆。
    may /meɪ/ mdal v. 也许;可能;可以
    (2) may还可以表示允许或征求对方许可,意为“可以”。—May I cme in, sir? 先生,我可以进来吗? —Of curse. 当然。
    【易混辨析】may be与 maybe
    I can’t find my bk in the schlbag. It may be in my drawer. 我在书包里没有找到我的书,它可能在我的抽屉里。Maybe she will cme this afternn. 她可能今天下午来。
    (1) a little 在此处作状语,可修饰形容词或副词,表示程度,与a bit同义。It’s a little ht tday. 今天有点儿热。The questin is a little difficult. 这个问题有点难。
    a little 一点;少量
    (2) a little还可作定语,意为“一点;少量”,修饰不可数名词。He drinks a little milk every day. 他每天喝一点牛奶。
    【易混辨析】few/a few与 little/a little 四者都可修饰名词,具体用法如下:
