meet 相当于汉语中的“集合;见面;碰头;聚集”。
right 在此作形容词,原义“正确的,适当的”。在此表示“对吗;是吧”,用来对此前陈述内容进行确认或核实。全句为Is that right? 口语中常用不完整的句子表达意见或想法。right还作名词表示“右边”“权利”等意思。

一、询问及描述外貌
1. 常用来描述人物相貌的词语:
height: tall, short, of medium height
build(体格): thin, heavy,of medium build
hair: short, long, straight, curly, long straight, curly short,blonde, black, brown …
(表示没头发用 have/has no hair或者用be+形容词bald)
2. 常用来描述人物相貌的句型:
① 主语 + is / are + tall / short / of medium
height/ thin / heavy (+with…).
② 主语 + has / have + long / short +curly / straight + black / brown / blonde + hair.
③主语 + wear(s) + 衣服 / glasses.
④主语 + has / have + a beard / beards.胡子
(is用于描述身高、体格,has用于描述头发、脸型、五官等。用于描述眼镜、配饰、衣着等要用动词wear。)
2. 提问人物相貌的句型:
1)特殊疑问句
- What does he/she look like?
- He/She’s really tall. /He/She has long straight hair.
2) 选择疑问句
- Do they have straight or curly hair?
-They have curly hair.
-Is he tall or short?
-He isn’t tall or short. He’s of medium height.
二、多个形容词的排列顺序
多个形容词修饰同一个名词,这些形容词有其固定的排列顺序。
基本顺序为:限定词(冠词、指示代词、物主代词、数词等)+表示观点的描述性形容词(beautiful, clever 等) +大小长短+形状(round, straight等)+新旧+颜色+国籍/地区+材料(wooden等)+名词。
例: 她留着漂亮的、卷曲的、金色的长发。
She has beautiful long curly blonde hair.
我有一只可爱的,来自法国的小白猫。
I have a lovely small white French cat.
(记忆口诀:大小、形状、描述性,年龄、颜色后跟定;产地、材料和用途,先后顺序已排清。)
