The Mga Caves (莫高窟), als knwn as the Thusand Buddha Grttes (千佛洞), frm a system f 492 temples 25km (16 mi) sutheast f the center f Dunhuang, an asis(绿洲) strategically lcated at a religius and cultural crssrads n the Silk Rad, in Gansu prvince, China.
Mga Caves is a grup f ancient caves which were built in different dynasties. It is famus fr exquisite（精美的）的murals(壁画)and varius sculptures(建筑) kept inside the caves. With 735 caves, mre than 45,000 square meters f murals, 2415 clred sculptures f different size, the caves cntain sme f the finest examples f Buddhist art (佛教艺术) spanning a perid f 1,000 years.
