Ss: Yes, we do. T: How many kinds of parties do you know? Ss: The birthday party, the tea party, the surprise party, the dancing party, the house-warming party, the school-leavers’ party… Step 2 Warming up Show the pictures to the students and then ask them the question: What will you take to join in a school-leavers’ party?

(1) Tell the students to read through the invitation and guess what sort of information they will need to listen for. (2) Play the recording for the students to listen to and check if their guesses were correct. 2. Now work in pairs and check the answers. Ask the students to work in pairs to read the conversation aloud, making sure they pause in the correct places. Invite a few pairs to act out the conversation for the class. 3. Work in pairs. Make plans for a party. Think about: · food and drink · music and dancing As a class, collect ideas for planning a party. Make notes on the board so the students can see new vocabulary in the written form. In pairs, ask the students to make plans for a party using the suggestions given. Tell them to agree on their plans and make notes. 4. Work with another pair.
