动词-ing 形式作表语
1.动词-ing形式作表语有时相当于形容词,用于说明主语的特征或性质,意为“令人……的”。The result f the accident is shcking.
这一事故的后果令人震惊。
The argument is very cnvincing.
这一论据很有说服力。
2.动词-ing形式作表语有时相当于名词,用于说明主语的内容,两者可互换。
What I am tired f is waiting here alne. (= Waiting here alne is what I am tired f.)
我讨厌独自在这里等。
My jb is teaching yu English. (=Teaching yu English is my jb.)
我的工作是教你们英语。
动词-ed形式作表语
过去分词作表语,多表示主语所处的状态或所具备的特征,多位于系动词之后。这些系动词有be,remain,feel,seem,lk,becme等。

我对你的故事很感兴趣。
动词-ed形式与动词-ing形式作表语
英语中有很多与感觉有关的及物动词,其动词-ing形式表示主动意义,即“令人……的”,多用来修饰物;其动词-ed形式含有被动意义,即“人感到……的”,多用来指人、人的声音或表情等。常见的这类词有:
exciting 令人激动的
excited 激动的,兴奋的
surprising 令人惊讶的
surprised 感到惊讶的
encuraging 令人鼓舞的
encuraged受到鼓舞的
frightening 使惊恐的
frightened 受惊的
interesting 令人感兴趣的
interested 感兴趣的
pleasing令人高兴的
pleased 满意的
mving 令人感动的
mved 受感动的
shcking 令人震惊的
shcked 感到震惊的
wrrying 令人担心的
wrried 感到担心的
tiring 令人劳累的
tired 感到劳累的
satisfying 令人满意的
satisfied 满意的
puzzling 令人迷惑的
puzzled 感到迷惑的
注意:
动词-ing形式和动词-ed形式作表语时其动词色彩常常被淡化,后面通常不能跟宾语,但可以用very,greatly等表示程度的副词对其进行修饰。如:
The ftball match was very exciting.
那场足球赛很激动人心。
She is greatly pleased with the results.
她对结果非常满意。
