Analysis f the teaching material
This unit is abut travel, while the theme f the text is “Explre Peru”. Travelling Arund is Part 2 f Unit 2. This text cnsists f tw parts. The first part is an intrductry text (r encyclpedia), which intrduces the gegraphical lcatin, gegraphic features and cultural histry f Peru. The secnd part is a travel brchure, which intrduces fur distinctive travel rutes in Peru. After reading the text, students can learn hw t learn abut their travel destinatin, hw t search fr infrmatin and hw t make plans fr travel. What’s mre, students can express their wn pinins abut travel destinatins.
Analysis f the students
Students in Grade One has learned English fr years, and they have mastered sme basic language pints and language skills, and they can get sme detailed infrmatin in the text. But mst f them lack reading strategies like skimming, scanning and predictin. This text is related t a cuntry--Peru, where there is beautiful scenery, which can braden students’ internatinal hrizn. The vide, maps will als active students interest in the text.
