National Museum of China

National Museum of China is located at the east side of Tian’anmen Square and opposite the Great Hall of the People. It was founded in February 2003, based on the National Museum of Chinese History and the National Museum of Chinese Revolution. There are more than one million collections in it. It’s one of the biggest museums in the world. You can learn a lot about Chinese history and Chinese culture here.

There are some rules to obey in the museum. Before you enter the museum, please tidy up your clothes. When you are visiting, you are not allowed to shout loudly, you mustn’t touch the exhibits, you can’t smoke there, you shouldn’t run or take photos there.

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the National Art Museum of China. Now we are on the first floor of China’s largest art museum. It has got a history of over 50 years. People began to build it in 1958 and completed it in 1962. The whole museum covers an area of more than 30,000 square metres with 20 exhibition halls from the first floor to the fifth. The National Art Museum of China has got more than 100,000 works of art, including four paintings by Picasso. Every year, millions of tourists come to visit this museum.
