(Bks clsed.) Pint utside the windw. Say It’s ht/cld/dry/wet tday. Mime being ht, cld, wet r dry. Pint t the scarf, hat, fan r umbrella, saying It’s ht/cld/wet. I want a … Nte that we d nt usually cmment n dry weather, unless it has just stpped raining. We can, hwever, say It’s dry. I dn’t want an umbrella.
Write the wrds ht/cld/wet/dry n the bard. Pint t ne f the wrds and say It’s ht. Ask a pupil t cme ut and give me the fan, scarf, hat, umbrella r raincat.
Pick up ne f the bjects and ask the pupils t make a sentence, e.g. pick up the umbrella and encurage the pupils t say It’s wet.
Shw Transparency. Play the Pupil’s Bk Cassette and pint t the speech bubble. Ask the pupils t repeat after the beeps.

Revise wrds frm clthes frm the previus unit and frm Bk 4 Unit 9 (dress, shirt, T-shirt, cat, hat, skirt, scarf). Ask the pupils t make sentences abut what the peple are wearing.
Pint t the bjects, e.g. the hat and ask the pupils What’s this? Get them t answer It’s a hat. Say Yes, it’s cld. She’s wearing a hat. Pint t ther bjects and ask them t make similar sentences.

Start keeping a class weather diary fr a week. Write the names f the days f the week acrss the tp f a large piece f paper. Each day, lk ut the windw and ask the pupils t make a sentence abut the weather. Write cue wrds and ask the pupils t draw symbls fr the different weather (e.g. sun fr ht, umbrella fr rain).

Pint t the raincat and umbrella and ask the pupils What’s this? Say It’s wet. Dn’t frget yur umbrella. /put n yur raincat. Encurage the pupil t pick up the umbrella r put n the raincat. Write the sentences n the bard.
Ask a different pupil t cme t the frnt. Give him/her the raincat and tell him/her t put it n. Lk ut f the dr and say It’s dry. Take ff yur raincat. Gesture t them t take ff the raincat. Write the sentences n the bard.
Practice
(Bks pen.) Shw Transparency and play the Pupil’s Bk Cassette. The pupils listen and fllw in their bks. Cntinue t play the cassette and ask the pupils t repeat the wrds after the beeps.
Pint t the windws in pictures 1-3 and the dr in picture 4. Ask What’s the weather like?

If the team cannt guess, the ther team can try. Keep scre n the bard.
