    Teacher: Tday we are ging t learn Unit 4 Fun with shapes and we are ging t learn sme new wrds abut shapes. D yu knw shapes? Here are fur shapes. Team 1 is the Circle Team. Team 2 is the Square Team. Team 3 is the Triangle Team and Team 4 is the Star Team. Lk. What’s that? Yes, it’s a clck. What shape is the clck, d yu knw? It’s a circle.
    Stick the circle picture and write the wrd n the bard.
    Teach the ther shapes square, triangle, star, rectangle, val and diamnd. Read and spell the wrds and the pupils draw the shapes with their fingers when reading the wrds.
    Listen and draw
    Ask every pupil t take ut ne piece f paper and draw the shapes they hear.
    Practice
    (Bks pen.) Shw Transparency. Pint t the fur pictures n the screens (each screen has the same fur pictures.) Pint t the shapes in the pictures and ask What shapes are there? Encurage the pupils t answer There’s a … There are …
    Put tw f the cut-ut shapes n the bard. Make sure they are the same shape and clur. Explain, fr example, There are tw squares. This is a square. This is als a square. They’re blue.
    Read the children’s sentences and have the pupils repeat them after me.
    Pint t anther picture. Get the pupils t make sentences t describe the shapes in the picture.
    Ask the pupils t take turns t rle-play the children and play the game with different pictures.
    Play a game
    First play a stry abut Mr Circle. Then get the pupils t talk abut their favurite shapes. Invite seven pairs f pupils t cme t the frnt and hld the seven shape pictures. Invite five pupils and ask them t clse their eyes. Stick ne shape n each pupil’s frehead and say t them: Yu dn’t knw what yu are and yu have t find ut what yu are as quickly as yu can. Ask them t ask the seven pairs f pupils ne by ne: Can I cme in? If the shape n the frehead is the same with the picture they hld, they shuld say: Yes. If n, they shuld say: Srry, n. When the pupils find ut what they are, they can say: I knw. I’m a …
    Shw sme sticking pictures
    Shw three sticking pictures and say: We can use shapes t make many things. Lk. It’s a huse/rcket/rbt. Are they pretty? Can yu make smething with shapes?
    Hmewrk
    Read and recite the new wrds abut shapes.
    Make ne thing by sticking shapes n a piece f paper.
    Find the wrng shapes in the picture.

    It’s和They’re的用法和区别学生分得不是很清楚,They’re和There are的读音和用法学生也容易搞乱。

    (Bks clsed.) Ask t brrw a male pupil’s pencil. Ask May I have this? Then pretend t write smething with the pencil. Give it back t a different pupil. When that pupil is surprised, say Is it yur pencil? When the pupil says N, ask the rest f the class Whse pencil is this? When the class tell me the name f the wner, pretend t remember and say Oh yes! This is …’s. It’s his pencil. Repeat the prcess by brrwing smething frm a female pupil. Write Whse, his and her n the bard.
    Ask tw pupils t cme t the frnt bringing with them bjects fund n their desk, e.g. bks, pencils. Mix up the bjects frm the tw pupils. Intrduce the tw pupils t the class, saying This is … and this is … Then pick up an bject, fr example a pencil. Ask the class Is this …’s r …’s pencil? Whse pencil is this? When the class answers with a name say Yes, it’s his/her pencil.
    Then pick up the bjects ne by ne again and ask the class t make sentences abut them It’s his/her pencil.
    Then pick up and shw the class all f ne pupil’s belngs and say fr example, … has tw pencils and ne bk.
    Practice
    (Bks pen.) Shw Transparency and play the Pupil’s Bk Cassette. The pupils listen and fllw in their bks. Cntinue t play the cassette and ask the pupils t repeat the wrds after the beeps.
    Ask the pupils t cmplete Kk’s wrds in the speech bubble in picture 1.
    Shw the pupils the teacher’s thught bubbles in picture 2. Explain that she thinks it’s Bb’s picture. Then pint ut Tim’s thught bubble. Bb’s picture has a crss next t it s the picture is nt Bb’s. Ask the pupils what Tim will say. Tell the pupils t cmplete the teacher’s secnd questin Whse …? And shw the pupils hw t get the answer It’s Pam’s. Her picture has … frm the infrmatin in Tim’s thught bubble.
    Tell the pupils t wrk in pairs t rle-play the teacher and Tim in the secnd part f the picture 2.

    The pupils in grups each chse a different shape r a shape f a different clur. They shw each ther the shapes they have chsen. They put them in a bag and take turns t pick a shape frm the bag. The grup leader asks Whse shape is this? The pupil hlding the shape makes tw sentences, e.g. It’s Jane’s. Her circle is red. The grup leader can award pints fr each crrect sentence.

    这部分内容比较多,学生掌握得不太好,以下这些词的用法学生分得不够清楚:he’s和his,she’s和her,wh’s和whse,还有have和has。

    Pint t the characters in the pictures and read their speech bubbles alud. Ask the pupils t pint t the speech bubbles as I read them.
    Play the Pupil’s Bk Cassette fr the pupils and ask them t say the sentences after the cassette.
    Explain that the pupils are preparing fr a perfrmance. Pint ut that Sam’s circle becmes a square due t an accident in picture 6.
    Ask the pupils t rle-play the stry in grups f 6 r 7 and t read the characters’ speech bubbles. Sme grups may like t cme ut t the frnt and act the stry.
    Use Strycards t revise the sequence and language f the stry.
    D Circle the crrect answer.
    Ask the pupils t read the stry again. Read the wrds with the pupils. Demnstrate hw t circle the crrect chice f wrds by ding the first ne with the pupils as an example. Check answers using Transparency.
    E Say the sund and the wrds.
    Play the Pupil’s Bk Cassette and ask the pupils t listen t the sund and the wrds. Pint t the tw pssible sunds f this spelling. In these tw wrds the wh is said with air blwing ut f the muth like the sund f the letter ‘h’. Demnstrate fr pupils the difference in the beginning sunds f wh and where.
    Say the wrds slwly and clearly. Check that the pupils are saying the sunds crrectly.
    Pint t the pictures and check that the pupils can say the wrds withut my mdel.
    Play the Pupil’s Bk Cassette again. Ask the pupils t listen t the rhyme and t circle the crrect hat. Get the pupils t say the rhyme.

    学完C部分后,让学生上来表演,把这个故事内容用英语演示一遍,学生比较感兴趣,同时也有助于他们对这个故事的理解。

    Ask them t shw each ther their pictures and talk abut them. While listening, the pupils make ntes abut their friends’ pictures in the table at the bttm f page 23.
    Tell the pupils t exchange their grup’s pictures with anther grup’s.
    The grups take turns t hld up a picture and ask the ther grup Whse picture is this? The members f the riginal grup (but nt the wner f the picture) take turns t say whse picture it is. Then they describe the picture. They get a mark fr each crrect piece f infrmatin.
    G Listen, draw lines and sing.
    Play the Pupil’s Bk Cassette fr the pupils t listen t the sng.
    Ask the pupils t draw lines between the bjects n the sfa with Pat and Tim belw.
    Play the cassette again and encurage the pupils t jin in with the wrds.

    Tell the pupils t match the mnsters and the cakes by drawing lines.

    Ask the pupils t match the children with the turtles by drawing lines.
    Wrkbk (p.19)
    Ask the pupils t lk at the first part f the page and listen t the Wrkbk Cassette. They need t draw a line t the crrect insects accrding t what they hear n the tape.
    Ask the pupils t lk at the secnd part f the page. Tell them t lk at the pictures and fill in the blanks.

    Ask the pupils t read the speech bubbles. Then tell them t match the children and the speech bubbles by drawing lines. Ask the pupils t draw the rbts accrding t the sentences in the speech bubbles.
