Bring in a shpping bag, an envelpe with an address n it but n stamp and a listing f films frm the newspaper. Wrap a bandage arund ne hand befre entering the classrm.
(Bks clsed.) Pretend t walk in a street. Take ut the envelpe and pint t the place where there shuld be a stamp. Say Is there a pst ffice? I want a pst ffice. Write the wrds pst ffice n the bard.
Cntinue with mimes t establish the cncepts f the ther places, e.g. shwing the film listing fr the cinema, shwing my bandaged hand fr the clinic, rubbing my stmach t shw I am hungry fr a restaurant, shwing my shpping bag fr the supermarket. Get the pupils t ask me Is there a …? Using the names n the bard. Answer Yes, there is. /N, there isn’t. If the answer is Yes, there is, lk at the map and ask myself alud, Where’s the …? Then pretend t remember and answer It’s in … Street. Write the name f the place in an empty building pictured n the bard.
Cntinue until the pupils have asked abut all the places n the bard. Then ask the pupils Where’s the …? Encurage them t answer It’s in … Street.
Tell ne pupil t ask anther pupil abut the places n the bard. The secnd pupil shuld answer.
Practice
(Bks pen.) Shw Transparency and play the Pupil’s Bk Cassette. The pupils listen and fllw in their bks. Cntinue t play the cassette and ask the pupils t repeat the wrds after the beeps.
Shw the pupils the characters and explain that Pat, Tim, Jenny and Kk are in City Centre. Kk and Jenny are asking Tim and Pat abut where the places n the ntice are. Shw the pupils the answers in Tim’s and Pat’s thught bubbles.
Read Kk’s speech bubble. Shw the pupils the answer in Tim’s thught bubble. Ask the pupils t read Tim’s answer.

Pint t the characters in the pictures and read their speech bubbles alud. Ask the pupils t pint t the speech bubbles as I read them.
Play the Pupil’s Bk Cassette fr the pupils and ask them t say the sentences after the cassette.
Ask the pupils t rle-play the stry in grups f five (ne will be silent as the cameraman) and t read the characters’ speech bubbles. Sme grups may like t cme ut t the frnt and act the stry.
Use Strycards t revise the sequence and language f the stry.

Ask the pupils t read the stry again. Read the wrds in the speech bubbles with the pupils. Demnstrate hw t write the number f the picture which matches the sentences as an example. Check answers using Transparency.
E Say the sund and the wrds.
Play the Pupil’s Bk Cassette and ask the pupils t listen t the sund and the wrds.
Pint ut the spelling f this sund. Tell the pupils that smetimes letter c has the same sund as letter s. This is usually befre r after an i r an e.
Say the wrds slwly and clearly. Check that the pupils are saying the sunds crrectly.
Pint t the pictures and check that the pupils can say the wrds withut my mdel.
Play the Pupil’s Bk Cassette again. Ask the pupils t listen t the rhyme and tick the crrect pictures shwing what the girl des in her dream. Get the pupils t repeat the rhyme.

学完C部分后，我请几个学生手举电影院、超市和邮局的图片分别站在教室的几个角落，然后叫学生几个人一组练习对话和表演，学生都很感兴趣。
C部分的新单词比较多，学生学起来有点难。

Ask the pupils t lk at the map n page 11. Tell them t cut ut the pictures f the places frm page 62 and t stick them n the map in any f the rectangles with dtted lines. Tell them nt t shw their friend.
Tell the pupils t wrk in pairs. Ask them t take turns t be Pupil A and ask Is there a …? Pupil B answers accrding t whether he r she has stuck a picture f that building n the map. Then Pupil A asks Where’s the …? And Pupil B answers accrding t their wn map. After exchanging rles, Pupil A and B cmplete the pster abut City Centre with the infrmatin frm their partner.
At the end, the pupils check the names f the buildings and streets n the psters with the plans in each ther’s bks.
