It is nt the first time that experts have claimed the techniques culd help develp fruit with unusual features: scientists have already been lking at changing the clr f kiwi fruit and bettering the taste f strawberries.

Writing in the jurnal Trends in Plant Science, the researchers say peppers are difficult crps t grw and lw prductive. Wrse still, it is tricky t keep the pungency f the fruits stable.
