Step 1 Leading in

1.Greet the class.

2.Show a picture of left⁃behind children and ask some students to talk about problems they may have.

3.Ask a question “If your parents aren’t with you,what will happen to your daily life?” Let the students answer it.

Step 2 Work on 2a-2b

1.Show a picture of a young student.Tell the students that the young man is Li Wen.He’s a 15⁃year⁃old boy whose parents are working in the city.Ask the students to discuss with their partners and have a brainstorm of the problems Li Wen might have.

2.Ask the students to show the problems Li Wen might have.

3.Ask the students to read the title of the passage in 2b and guess the main idea of the passage.

4.Ask the students to read the passage quickly and try to find the main idea,and then let them try to put the sentences into the correct places in the passage.

5.Read the passage with the students and teach the new words and phrases.
