Intention

Step 1: Lead-in 

Watch a video of Easter

then ask and answer what

the song is about.

It helps students know something about Easter.

Step 2: Learn new words and phrases

1)     Explain new words and phrases by telling the method of searching for information on the Internet.

2)     Check new words in pairs.

3)     Check new words by the teacher.

It helps students have a better understanding of new words and phrases. And they can also know  how to use them. After checking, most of the students can read and spell the new words.

Step 3 : Listening

Listen and write true (T) or false (F).

Develop students’ listening skills. Let them have a general idea of this lesson.

Step 4 : Reading  

1) Read the lesson silently and answer the questions.

Explain the phrase “depend on” then do some exercises about new phrases .

2) Read the lesson again and fill in the mind map.

3) Read after the tape then read in pairs.

1) Develop students’ reading skills and practice new words and phrases in exercises.

2) Let students know the three parts of this lesson and summarize main points with a mind map.

3)  Help students to check pronunciation and intonation.

Step 5: Practice

Talk about Easter according to the mind map.

Help students retell the text. Develop their ability of summarizing and expressing.

Step 7: Extension

Watch a video of festivals and answer how many festivals are in the video and what they are.

Help students know more festivals.

Step 8: Writing

Write about your favourite festival. Finish the mind map then talk about it.

Develop students’ ability of expressing and writing. Let them make a mind map by herself/ himself.

Step 9: Homework

Search for information about a festival.

 1. Make a mind map.

 2. Write a short passage.

You can choose either of them.

There are two levels ins this parts. Students  can choose one that they are able to do.
