Greeting2. Leading-inIn the first act, people’s attitudes towards Henry changed greatly after he showed the million-pound bank note. Now Henry walks into a tailor’s shop. Let’s see what will happen to him.二、 While-class 学生活动:Read the scene quickly and summarize the main idea.参考答案:In the tailor’s shop, Henry was treated coldly at first because he looked poor and later he was respected, for he showed the large note.学生活动:再次阅读课文,回答下列问题:Where does Henry go? What does he want?What do the clerks show Henry at first? Why?What makes the people in the store change their attitudes towards Henry?Why would the owner be willing to wait for a long time to get paid?Is it right to judge people by their clothes? Why or Why not?参考答案:He goes to a tailor’s shop. He wants new clothes.They show him ready-made clothes, because he looks poor and these clothes are cheaper.They change their attitudes after seeing the million-pound note because they think that he is rich.Perhaps he thinks that Henry will come back and buy a lot more clothes in the future or tell his wealthy friends about the shop. No, it is not right for two reasons. First, everyone has dignity and should be treated with the same respect. Second, you can’t judge someone before you know all the facts about this person. They are glad to wait a long time to get paid.学生活动:回顾剧本的构成要素。参考答案:character names、lines of dialogue、narration、scene、stage directions、title of play.学生活动:剧本创作。(1)头脑风暴,讨论确定这场戏发生的场景,如:shoe store、barber shop、hotel、post office、cinema等(2)确定这场戏中的人物角色;(3)设计故事发展脉络,参考前面的步骤,以表格或流程图的形式列出提纲;(4)细化故事设计,补充人物情感变化的细节信息;(5)为这场戏设计一个有趣的结局(6)写出初稿。让学生以小组为单位进行剧本创作,提醒学生注意剧本体裁的基本要素和特点。学生可以参照前面讨论确定的提纲,依次设计每个片段中人物的台词。(7)修改剧本。让学生以小组为单位,分角色朗读刚刚完成的剧本,然后根据教材提供的评价表核查剧本的内容和形式,一起修改、完善剧本。教师了解各组的完成情况,及时给予指导和点评。三、After-class展示与分享。教师可挑选几组学生为全班表演自己创作的剧本,也可以把各组完成的剧本张贴在班级墙报中,供学生课后阅读、分享。参考:The Million Pound Bank NoteAct 1, Scene 4Narrator: Henry is walking along the street with the bank note in his hand when he sees a barber’s shop. Sit on that chair to wait your turn.Henry: (approaching the chair and sitting on it) All right. (After about half an hour)Barber: (looking at Henry with a frown) I am not sure if you have enough money to pay. You know, it costs much.Henry: There is no need for you to worry about it. You’d better not judge people by their clothes. I can definitely afford it.Barber: (cutting Henry’s hair carelessly) Well, it’s done. It’s time to pay for the bill. It costs 30 pounds.Henry: I am afraid that you can’t give me the change. I carry only one large note.Barber: Are you kidding? Please pay your bill now.Henry: (takes out the bank note and hands it to the barber) Here you are.Barber: (in a great shock) Oh, dear!
