The first part involves viewing the photos to predict what would happen in the film clip, and viewing the film clip to have an overall comprehension, understand the specific information and notice the characters changing attitudes. In the second part, students are asked to retell and role-play the film clip. In Activity 3, where talking is the key, the sequencing words and connecting words listed help students to connect important scenes to retell the story. As for the last activity, where the teacher should use the viewing activities s the scaffolding to prepare students for creativity and imagination to make up and act out their scripts for the whole class, which contributes to students speaking ability.教学目标 (核心素养)At the end of this section, students will be able to: 1. recognize the expressions used in restaurants and those about western food. 2. restate the main idea of the film clip and finish related activities. 3. describe the characters changing attitudes throughout the scene. 4. use sequencing words and connecting words to retell the story. 5. use their imagination to create a new script and act it out.教学重点Recognize the expressions used in restaurants and those about western food, describe the characters changing attitudes, and use sequencing words and connecting words to retell the story.教学难点Create a new script and act it out.实施策略教学方法Task-based Approach, Cooperative Learning method教学资源(信息技术应用)Multimedia, Seewo Whiteboard 5 教  学  过  程 备 注Step 1 Brainstorming Ask students to look at the four photos in Activity 1 on page 55 and describe them in pairs according to the table. Invite some students to share their descriptions.Group students to brainstorm the expressions used in restaurants and those about western food. Collect answers from the class. Correct them if necessary.Step 2 PredictingPair students to predict the plot of this film clip based on the setting and characters’ actions and facial expressions shown in the photos in Activity 1.Invite some students to share their opinions. Make impromptu comments if necessary.Step 3 Watching for contentPlay the film clip and ask students to the waiters in the restaurant as a way to check their prediction.Collect answers from the class. Ask students to read the questions in Activity 2 on page 55 and underline the key words.Play the clip again and pair students to discuss the questions in Activity 2.Invite some students to share their answers. Provide help if necessary.Step 4 Watching for language pointsPresent students the script of this film clip and ask them to read aloud, marking the expressions used in restaurants and those concerning western food.Group students to describe the changes in characters’ attitudes in the movie and discuss from what aspects to describe them.Collect opinions from the class. Make explanations if needed.Step 5 Enhancing language Play the movie clip again and ask students to imitate the conversation. Remind students to pay attention to the attitudes, facial expressions, tones and intonations, and actions and gestures. Invite some students to present their imitation to the class. Rank and evaluate their performance.Step 6 Speaking Ask students to read the sequencing words and connecting words in Activity 3 on page 55 individually, and figure out their functions.Pair students to retell the story, using the beginning, sequencing words and connecting words given in Activity 3.Step 7 Creating and performingAsk students to make up their own scripts of the story to match the movie clip. Remind them  to apply what they have learned in the previous steps when describing the characters’ changing attitudes.Check students’ scripts and correct the mistakes if necessary.Group students to pick out their favorite script and work together to act it out.Encourage students to present their scripts to the class.
