Step 1. Greeting

Step 2 . Lead-in

S: Yes, I d.
T : OK. We’ll have a part tday and I have invited sme pp stars t attend in rder t make ur party fun. Als we’ll d many interesting activities during the party . first , let me intrduce the pp star t yu. This is Jay Zhu. He likes reading and surfing n the internet, but nw he’s having a party with us. D yu want t intrduce yurselves t him?
S1 : Yes.
T : OK. What d yu like ding?
S2 : I like playing basketball.
T: and what abut yu?
S3 : I like singing.
T : Can yu sing a sng fr us?
S 3: Yes, I can.
T: Listen ,he is singing , and yu are listening t him.
T : If yu want t express what is happening , we can use a new tense, it’s called Present Cntinuus Tense. What’s the usage f the Present Cntinuus Tense?
S1 : 现在进行时表示现在或现阶段正在进行的动作或状态。
T : and what abut the structure?
S2 : be + ding
T : The frm f ding , we call it “present participle” .
There are sme examples n the screen. Can yu find ut the rules f changing present participles?
(Ask the Ss t summarize the rules and give the Ss several minutes t recite them, and them ask ne t give a reprt.)

T : Nw let’s have mre practice : What are they ding at the party?
Simn is playing the pian . Daniel is eating . we are chatting with ur friends. Shw them sme mre pictures. Talk abut their activities, using the Present Cntinuus Tense. Read the passage cntaining the Present Cntinuus Tense. Crrect them. Open yur bks and cmplete exercise ne. Check and read nw?
T : In the party , I have a student, Tm. He studies hard every day. Lk at the picture. What’s he ding nw?
S1 : He is ding hmewrk.
T : Is he ding hmewrk nw?
Ss: Yes, he is / N, he isn’t.
(summarize special questins, general questins and answers.)
Step 4 . Exercise tw
T: Ok.I’ll shw yu ther pictures and ask sme Ss t talk abut them using th structure we have learned “ What is he / she ding?”
Then talk abut what yur classmates are ding in the party.
T : I have sme friends wh didn’t attend the party, nw listen t the tape and find ut what they are ding.
(Play the recrding fr the Ss t listen. Play again . Ss listen and write the number f the activity each persn is ding. Check the answers.)
Take ut yur test paper and cmplete exercise tw, make sentences accrding t the pictures.
T: We have dne many activities during the party, maybe yu’re a little tired , nw let’s d a guessing game t relax urselves.
( Ask students t s sme activities in the frnt f the classrm and then the thers gusee what they are ding . Fr example, “Are yu singing?” “Are yu dancing?” If their answers are right, they will have the chance t shw. )
Summarize the cncept f present cntinuus tense, the rules f changing present participle and sentence patterns. Meanwhile shw the chant in the paper.
进行时很好记, be加动词-ing;
直接、双写、去掉e, 分词构成需仔细;
别说be词无意义,主语和它最亲密;
变疑问be提前,否定nt在后面;
何时要用进行时,lk, listen,nw是标志。
