Unit 6 When was it invented 一、教材分析该篇文章主要介绍篮球的发明以及其发展历程。由于生词量较大,在阅读过程中,学生们完全理解课文方面会有一定的困难。针对上述情况,本课在设计时先以录像导入的形式,增加学生对文章有关的感性知识;然后采用略读的方法,培养学生阅读整体观念;在随后的细节处理时,采取寻读、细节理解、回答问题等方法;在难点处理时,通过启发诱导,教师归纳的措施加以突破。整个教学过程的设计由浅入深,由感悟、理解、分析、归纳、总结到运用,从而完成从阅读输入到理解输出的学习过程,达到培养学生阅读能力的目标。
二、学情分析九年级学生有一定的词汇量,能阅读一些浅显的英语短文,但对于一些较长、较难的英语文章,学生往往有畏难情绪,不能整体把握文章的主旨,综合分析、判断、理解的能力还有限。因些增加学生的词汇量,培养学生良好的阅读习惯和阅读技巧是上好阅读理解课的首要目标。
三、 教学目标
1.语言目标:
①重点单词及短语:create wooden knock into divide ---into hang from court the number of.
②能读懂课文内容,并从中提取信息和观点。
③能就“篮球的发明”这一话题进行讨论。2.能力目标:
①训练学生快速理顺并获取阅读信息的能力,完成围绕课文内容所设计的各种任务,初步掌握快速阅读技巧,能基本表述课文大意
②在学习中培养学生对阅读信息的筛选和辨别能力,能用英语谈论与蓝球有关的人和事,激发学生主动学英语和用英语的积极性。
3.情感态度目标:
通过对篮球的发明与发展的了解与学习,增长学生的见识,培养学生的对篮球以及运动的爱好、以及积极的情感态度和价值观。四、 教学过程
step1. Lead-in and warming-up activities

Step3 Explain the difficulties① Knocking into players and falling down would be dangerous动名词短语做主语,谓语动词用单数。eg. Eating junk food is bad for your health.② It is believed that on December 21st, 1891, the first basketball game in history was played.在这个句型中,it是形式主语,that 引导的从句是真正的主语。类似的句型还有It is said /hoped /reported that---③ the number of ----的数量。eg. The number of the students is fifty.a number of -----许多的 eg. A number of students are good④ divide----into 把-----分成 eg. First one student reads a paragraph to the other student. You can help each other with the hard words. You can discuss the summary and help each other with the words and the spelling. It is very important to write the most important things. Remember, you are summarizing the paragraph.③ The student that summarized the first paragraph reads and the other student listen. Then the listener writes the summary. The group continues reading, taking turns reading and summarizing.
