    that在句中只起连接作用，没有含义，也不在句中充当任何成分，在口语中常省略。

2)    if 和whether 引导的宾语从句。

   if 和whether 都意为 “是否 ’’，多引导由一般疑问句或选择疑问句转化而来的从句，在句中具有一定的意义，不能省略。

3)感叹句：

   What +(a/an) +形容词+名词+主语+谓语！

   What an interesting story it is!

   What beautiful paintings they are!

   How beautifully she draws!

4)put on意为“增加（体重） ；发胖”。

  eg:壹 can whatever I want but I never put on weight.

     She put on her coat and went out. (还有“穿上”的意思）

     put 常用的短语有：

     put away,  put off,  put up,  put into  put down,  put out
5) pound “磅；英镑”
　(1)The desk is pounds in weight.
　(2)Can you lend me five pounds?
6) in two weeks 意为“两周后”将来时的标志，对这样的时间段提问用“how soon”

  She has gone to Beijing, and she will be back in two weeks.

  -How soon can you finish this English exam?-In about one and a half hours.

7)similar 相似的，类似的

  We have similar opinions.

  be similar to 和......相似

  2） dress up 意为“装扮 ，穿上盛装”， dress up as … 意为“装扮成。。。。。。；打扮成。。。。。。”。

      as  后面接 表示角色，职业等的名词。

（1）between...and...是一个介词短语，表示“在……和……之间”，它只限于两者之间，可以是两个人，也可以是两个不同的物或两个点（时间、数字、场所等）。

辨析：between与among

（2）the beginning of 意为“……的开始”，其中beginning是begin的名词形式，意为“开始，开端”，其反义词为end。

That’s the beginning of his new life.那是他新生活的开始。

【拓展】 at the beginning of 意为“在……之初；在……的开始”。反义词组为at the end of ，意为“在……的末端；在……的结尾”。

     At the beginning of this year，he knew that man.今年年初，他认识了那个人。

（3）give out用尽；分发

     eg:He gave out books.他分发了书。

     give的常用短语：

     give away分发，捐赠

     give back归还，使恢复

     give in投降，屈服，让步

     give off发出，放出（气味、热、光等）

     give up放弃

（4）not only...but also...不但……而且……

考向一：not only...but also应连接两个相对称的并列成分，若连接两个主语时要实行就近原则。如：

Not only Mr. Lin but also his son loves the movie.林先生和他的儿子都喜欢这部电影。（连接两个主语）

考向二：以not only...but(also)...开头的句子往往引起部分倒装。

eg:Not only can I do it but(also)I can do best.我不仅能做到而且做得最好。

【拓展】常见的就近原则的结构有：

neither...nor...既不……也不……（两者都不）

eg:Neither you nor I like him.我和你都不喜欢他。

either...or...不是……就是……（两者中的一个）

eg:Either Lily or you are a student.不是莉莉就是你是学生。
