(1)by ding sth.意为“通过……(方法、途径)做某事”,常用来回答hw引导的特殊疑问句。介词by在此处表示“通过;以”,其后常接动词ing形式。—Hw d yu learn English?你是怎么学习英语的?—By watching TV.通过看电视。
(2)by的其他用法①“by+地点”表示“在……旁边”。My grandfather sat dwn by the dr.我爷爷坐在门旁边。②“by+时间”表示“在……之前”。Can yu finish yur hmewrk by 5 ’clck?五点之前你能做完作业吗?
③“by+交通工具”表示“搭/乘……”。I g t wrk by bike every day.我每天骑自行车上班。④by还可表示连续或反复,意为“(一个)接着(一个);(一个)又(一个)”。Dn’t read wrd by wrd.不要一个字一个字地读。

【拓展】 cnnect t意为“把……连接到……”。Please cnnect the cmputer t Internet.把电脑连到因特网上。They’ll cnnect it t yur rm.他们会把电话接到你房间去的。
考点九 put n的用法【课文原句】 I’ve put n five punds!我的体重增加了5磅!(九P10)(1)put n意为“增加(体重);发胖”。I can eat whatever I want but I never put n weight.我想吃什么就吃什么,但是体重从不增加。

whever意为“无论谁;不管什么人”,可以引导名词性从句和让步状语从句。引导让步状语从句时,whever相当于n matter wh。Whever cmes will be welcmed.无论谁来都欢迎。Anyne may pint ut ur mistakes in the wrk, whever he is.任何人,不管他是谁,都可以指出我们工作中的错误。

admire意为“欣赏;仰慕”,常用搭配有admire sb. fr (ding) sth.“因(做)某事而钦佩某人”。I admire yu fr yur curage.我钦佩你的勇气。

dead作形容词,意为“死的;失去生命的”。My father has been dead fr ten years.我父亲已经去世10年了。We shuld cut dwn the dead trees.我们应该砍掉那些死树。

(2)end up意为“最终成为;最后处于”,后常跟形容词、介词短语或动名词(短语)。常与with搭配,构成固定搭配end up with“以……结束”。If he keeps driving like that, he’ll end up dead.如果他继续那样开车,总有一天会把命都丢掉。The meeting ended up with a sng.会议以一首歌曲结束。
