Africa, Asia, Europe, kilo, as well as, etc.

The elephant lives in Asia.
The panda eats about 30 kilos of bamboo a day.
It’s strong and catches other animals for food.
Etc.
3.How to introduce the life of a kind of animals in English.
教学准备:
PPT/pictures on the Internet/ videotape.
教学过程:
Step 1. Warming up:
Revise Unit 1 by showing some pictures and ask them:
Does it eat meat? / Do they eat meat? /What’s your favourite animal?
step2.Introduction
1.Show a map of the world to learn some new words about continents
2.Show some special animals in each continent to practice be from/come from.
3.Practice live in /lives in with the pictures.
4. Learn more new words and read them together,especially, pay attention to their pronunciation.
5.Without showing the English spelling or Chinese meaning,have a quick test.
6.Finish Part 2 and read their answers together.

Listen to the tape in Part 3 and answer the following questions.
1. How many animals are mentioned(提到) in the passage?
2. What are they?
3.Do the elephant, zebra and monkeys live in Africa?
Check answers.
step4.Read and answer.
1.Read each passage in Part 3 and solve questions to check them if they can find key information quickly.
2.Listen and read Part3 after the tape, then read it together.
3.Read freely with the help of their teacher.
4.Work in groups to read out the dialogue in class, encouragement should be given.

Enjoy the video in Part 3.
step6.Careful reading.
- Read the dialogue carefully to complete the table in Part 3.
- Check answers and have a quick answer about it.
- Make new sentences according to the table with live in and catch/eat.
Stetp7.Complete the sentences.
Finish part 4 on their own, check answers in class or each other. At last, read it together.
Step8. Writing.
Read the introduction in part 5 quickly, find the mistakes and correct them. Show the answers and read it again.
Step9.Language points.
Sum up the phrases in Unit 2 and read them together.
Step 10.Exercises
Do some exercises in class to consolidate what they have learnt in this lesson. Encouragement should be given.
Step 11. Homework
1.Read Part 3 in Unit 2 smoothly.
2.Write a short passage about your favourite animal.
3.Additional exercises.
