Now he is ready to give his report to the class. ready意思是“有准备的;准备好的;做好准备的”,用作表语。 常用于 be / get ready for sth.和 be ready to do sth. 中。 Sb be ready for sth. 的意思是“某人为某事做好了准备”。 eg: Are you ready for the picnic? be ready to do sth.的意思是“准备好做某事”。 eg: We are ready to have a sports meeting. 小提示:be ready to do sth.还可表示 “乐意做某事”。 2. someone very special 此句中,special是形容词作定语,放在someone的后面。不定代词someone, anyone的定语必须放在它们后面,就象something, anything, nothing的定语一样。 eg:Someone important will come to see us. 有位重要人物会来看我们。 3. …our English teacher, Ms. Liu. 在此句中注意Mr., Mrs., Miss.(意为先生、夫人、小姐)三个单词的用法。在西方,婚后的女士随丈夫姓。姓之前用Mrs. Smith。未婚女士姓之前用Miss,意为小姐。如果无法判断她是否结婚,则可称为Ms或Lady(女士)。与女士谈话时,用错Miss和Mrs.,会使女士们很不愉快。 4. She encourages us to ask questions and discuss the answers with each other. encourage sb. to do sth. 意为“鼓励某人做某事”。 e.g. My mother often encourages me to study hard. 我妈妈经常鼓励我努力学习。 5. Walking to school in January. walking to school动名词短语,作hate的宾语。完整的句子是:Ms. Liu hates walking to school in January. 动名词还可以放在like, enjoy, finish, prefer等词后面。 e.g. I enjoy reading.我喜欢阅读。 He finished working in the lab very late. 他很晚才完成实验室的工作。 6. marry marry sb. 意为“与某人结婚” eg: She married a man with a lot of money. get / be married to sb. 意为“和某人结婚” eg: When did you get married? She has been married to him for ten years. 7. You can call me “Ms.” Yang or “Mrs.” Liu. 此句中call sb. sth意为“喊某人”, call后面跟的是双宾语。 e.g. Please call me John. 请叫我约翰吧。 在英语中有很多动词后面可以跟双宾语。如:give, show, send, bring, offer, read, pass, lend, hand, tell, write, return等。 e.g. Pass me the salt, please. 请把盐递给我。 I’ll lend you something to read. 我借点书给你看. 4)分组活动 口语训练 Interview one of your teachers and tell a group of classmates about him or her.
