1. The tired children don’t get home until after 7:00 p.m.

not...until“直到...才”表示直到某一时间,某一行为才发生,之前该行为并没有发生, 用在否定句中，主句中的谓语可以是延续性的也可以是短暂性动词。例如：

The tired students don’t go to bed until eleven o'clock.

2. kind的用法

n. 种类; adj. 和蔼的; 相关短语：a kind of… 一种……；all kinds of… 各种各样的……；kind of +adj. = a little +adj. 有点儿……; 例如：

This kind of freedom is expensive. 这种自由是宝贵的。

What kind of movies do you like? 你喜欢什么类型的电影？

Mothers send their kids to all kinds of classes. 母亲们送他们的孩子参加各种各样的学习班。 It is kind of original. 它有点儿新颖。

3. compare的用法

⑴ 表示“把……与……比较”通常用 compare……with……，但在现代英语中，也可用 compare……to……，或者用 compare……and……例如：

If you compare his work with (and) hers, you’ll find hers is much better.

要是把他俩的工作比较一下，就会发现她的好得多。
